Why are reports public?

Plus, it will doubled up their job as a staff to handle a lot of bug reports unlike other players here which can help easily and to tell wether it is a bug or just a sort of lag or etc.
Titles give an idea of the bug and glitches are usually solved before it gets too hectic in the reports. Also it won’t double their job, being staff here is not a job it’s a pleasure as it is a volunteer position.

Private reports reduce the need for players feeling uncomfortable reporting bugs/players.

Exactly. Awkwardness, loss of friends etc.

There’s lots of good reasons for public reports. Like bear said, public reports make it easier for others to identify bypassers. If a report isn’t enough evidence, someone could add more to the thread if they have it. And for bug reports, if its public, there’s less of a chance people will report the same bug twice, which would prob be pretty annoying to read 20 threads about the same bug xD also, people can contribute to the thread, adding more information about the bug or why it happens.

There is a plus side to public reports but that does not undo the faults of it. People could abuse the bugs that have been reported until their nerfed.

yes you keep saying that. The majority of players who view those reports don't abuse them. glitch exploiting is a 7 day ban anyways. Most people who do cheat get caught sooner or later

Also think of it this way, if someonw didnt know about the bug and couldnt identofy is someone is exploiting, now they can

Explanations aren’t prooven true though. That player could’ve hacked once and it should be all staff opinions given based off of the proof provided by x reporter. If no proof is given, then it shouldn’t be trusted. Staff should use their best judgment with no other interruptions when it comes to whether a player hacks, swears, or breaks any rules or not.
97% of the time, people who are reported on Player Reports are only ''judged'' by staff, the only times when people butt in are mostly mb reports but that still doesn't change the outcome of the final answer.

If you feel awkward reporting people publicly you can always create a conversation with a staff member and report privately. And, what is the point of exploiting bug reports when most of them are about not being able to get in the server or crashing?

And they're hardly going to exploit the glitch. In public reports, odds are, a ton of staff are going to see it almost instantly, and it gets fixed quick

Firstly, there’s only two people within the staff team who can actually deal with the bug reports. secondly, it’s also our job to handle these type of things, we signed up to become staff, not for players to do our jobs for us.

Honestly it gets quite annoying whenever players continuously spam the bug reports section, or overall any section (reports, ban appeals, support, etc.) especially to the point the staff can’t even do our own jobs. (TεT)
Make bug reports private (only staff can see threads but players can still post there) so that players won’t abuse the glitches shared in that forum
Whenever bug reports are public, it overall seems easier for us; sometimes people don’t know how to explain the bug, so other people step in and explain it better or add screenshots (videos, etc.) whenever the bugs are explained better, it definitely helps Vertx understand it way better and probably saves time trying to figure it out. :thinking-face:

I don’t really see any point in making them private, it could possibly stop people from glitch exploiting but it’s not gonna stop people from talking about it, whenever someone figures out the bug - they could simply tell everyone, so I mean, it wouldn’t really change much.
Either way they’d get temporarily banned if we caught them glitch exploiting. ヽ(*´з`*)ノ

Also, do you want me to move this thread to suggestions and ideas? Because it seems more so like a suggestion lol, it’s totally fine if not; I’m just wondering. :p
same with player reports so that it’s private and people don’t feel weird posting there because it’s public. Thank you!
If they feel odd posting player reports publicly they could always privately send evidence of whoever they’re reporting in conversations or discord. ♡

There’s a suggestion section??!! Yes please move it there xD and ty for this reply. Usually if it’s a bad glitch with no player advantage people tell others but if it’s a glitch worth exploiting people only tell a few close friends.

Yuppers! There’s a bunch of sections, you can find all of them pretty easily, just click this thingy and scroll down: https://brokenlens.xyz/forums/ - more specifically; https://brokenlens.xyz/forums/#other-forums.19

That’s true, although they’d still get banned; some might even be able to figure out the glitch just by watching other players do it, or they’ll tell one friend and they’ll tell another then it just goes on and on. (´ε`*)
