I suggest that private reports shouldn't be allowed anymore. A person doesn't even get to know why they got banned or who got them banned. This idea is just stupid. If you're gonna report someone, just do it in the player reports forum. Private reports make no sense tbh

Just stop it.
Do you have to be so shy? So shy that you can't even report a player in public? What's gonna happen? Is the hacker gonna hack you or are they gonna come to you and kill you? Stupidity over 9000 here.

I think the reason they have them is because of some of the more major reports. (i.e. Lachlan's) where if they had not made it private, the thread would be going bonkers because it's visible to everyone, so everyone would start screaming their own opinions.

Also, maybe the people that reported someone who got banned doesn't want to deal with a butt-load of hate just because he thought he/she was hacking.

I believe private reports are just fine.

Private reports are literally the same to public reports. The only difference is that they don’t want their identity out, so they don’t recieve tons and tons of hate against them. Especially if they report a well-known or popular player.
Additionally, I think the reporter has the option to allow the reason they got banned publicly. I’m not a hundred percent sure, but I think they’d allow why they got banned if the reporter allowed it.

I guess ur right in some way, but some people report others that do the wrong thing and they kind of don’t want them to know that they’ve ‘betrayed’ him, so in other ways private reports are pretty useful for keeping ur identity secret

I agree I think private reports are #ew. They’re unfair to the people who got banned. They don’t get a fair chance to make a fair ban appeal. I think the whole “privacy” reason is petty stupid because if you’re gonna go out of your way to get this guy banned you shouldn’t be afraid of the outcome.

If someone was bullying you and picking on private details about you, would you want them to be seen publicly? No.

If someone sent you an inappropriate picture or link, would you allow everyone on the forums to see it? I hope not.

Making private reports not allowed wouldn't even be possible, people could still report privately on Discord, Twitter, Instagram and conversations anyway. The staff won't just say "No, we don't accept this report. Report it publicly."

In Lachlan's case, everyone would go off at whoever posted the report and the reporter would have to deal with unnecessary comments. Even if it were a false ban, it is up to staff. No matter what. Public reports, private reports, it's always a staff decision so I don't see the problem in private reports. You may want to put your two cents when it comes to reports like Lachlan's but we have a staff team for a reason. If you noticed something off about a report, someone in the team is bound to notice it too, like edw in this case.

But this is just my opinion, of course.

who tf cares abt haters
why should they gaf if they get alot of hate for reporting a high level whos famous? are they scared theyre gonna get hate for doing the right thing? Sami was brave enough to report me in public for my exessive bans and I respect it.
But they shouldnt be so worried for the amount of hate theyre gonna get for reporting a high level cause this is a damn game and when you grow up youll realize that u shouldnt bother ur haters who hurted you in the past.
as if ur gonna meet them irl and talk with them when u grow up. they arent a single benefit.
like i said, this is just a game. if someone hates on u, u shouldnt care or bother. rather ignore it since its not worth ur time.

It's considerate and an option when it comes to reporting a player that is popular , because some people get too defensive about it, like "I rather not get harrased/bullied" (but i myself don't really care about what others say behind my back so yeah)

hate hurts. I'm fairly certain if one of your friends got banned you would go out of your way to make the reporter feel miserable. Not to be rude.

Why hasnt anyone thought of just letting the person who got reported see their report
Since many of these reports are in convos why not add the person who got reported into the convo so they can see why they got reported and talk with the person who reported them
Then the person who gotnreported can just discuss stuff and maybe even say why they did that or the cause they did that or just tell the staff why they shouldnt be banned
And if the reporter needs to bring another person for evidence they can just add them to the convo so they provide evidence
Everything will still be private and no one will ever know and they can still discuss it out.

It kind of won’t be private because the person who got reported will be able to see who reported them and the person who reported them most likely didn’t want them knowing they were the ones who reported them. So the person who got reported will most likely be salty and tell everyone who it was that reported them.

Well maybe if they expose the person, they could have a punishment of some sort like a week ban? Or maybe a mute for a few days bcuz no one should get that salty that they wanna expose the person and bring them hate now that I'm thinking about it this might not help but I still agree with visualz

And that will help bcuz then there won't be huge discussions of "why I got banned" where many players give out their opinions and then it's made bigger than it needs to be no hate for the ppl giving opinions on lachlans case tho and like in many cases the person just wants to know why they got banned. This is just my opinion so if u don't agree don't mind me den : p

I don't have much against them... It's great to be able to report certain things privately

But, like others have said,
the person reported should at least be able to see the ''evidence'' that got them banned/muted or whatever-

If something could "expose" the reporter's identity then blur out those things.

And staff usually notice when something's off with a report

Since it's a private report they cant tell anyone that's what they are for reason why staff don't show it to ppl
And also the person who got reported should see who reported them and why Bcos
Why if they have a reason they did that or has evidence that proves he didn't do that
If they don't see it then it's unfair since they can't see why they got reported and can't provide evidence or discuss about the report themselves.
Also it would be private since only a staff the reporter and the person who got reported would
Only see it not the public

I don’t think private reports should not be allowed. I think they’re fine. And as @Klassux said, if you report a popular player, you can get lots of hate.

If the report was 100% hacks then yes but a report like mine shouldnt be allowed :/
