I've actually gained a little respect for Fortnite for trying something new instead of just your regular old shooter video game, I used to just hop on the bandwagon and tear apart this game like everyone else did instead of actually playing the game and realizing how different it is to Minecraft. It's actually quite fun to play in my opinion, I still do prefer Minecraft but now I see that comparing this game to Minecraft is just stupid, Because both games are completely different from one another.
I also find the argument "Fortnite is full of squeaky nine year olds" irritating as just because a game has a particularly younger fanbase does not mean its a bad game at all, It's actually far from the truth. Just look at Minecraft in 2017, Everyone who played the game was considered "cringe" because they a played a block game "with 1992 graphics", and "had a younger fanbase". Once PewDiePie started his own Minecraft lets play series in 2019, It shed some light onto Minecraft as people started to realize that they were hating on an actual masterpiece blindly. Fortnite now faces the same situation, And now people are blindly hating on the game just like they did with Minecraft, just because everyone else is doing it, Instead of actually seeing what the game is like.
Even if you tried the game and still dislike it, Doesn't mean you should just go bully others for having their own personal tastes. I have a younger cousin (seven years old) who is autistic like me with more severe symptoms who absolutely loves Fortnite, And people bully him for it which I didn't appreciate. He doesn't understand why people hate him for just liking a video game which makes me really sad. People should be able to have their own tastes, opinions and favourite games without being bullied for it, And I wish I knew this sooner.
