How I myself "simply" play One in the Chamber

As a person who plays OITC pretty frequently(assuming the game is still alive and running), I tend to think of two things, weaknesses and my internal frustration. We are talking about weaknesses later but now let me talk to you about ARCHETYPES! If you don't know what an archetype is Google it. So about archetypes, I'll give you three simple ones to get you started on what I think.

Rushdown
Like the name implies, rush them down and kill them quick, this is a common archetype used by many players even newcomers. I'll list pros and cons for this archetype:
Pros:
  • Agile and fast, a good Rushdown can rush in at different directions to trick opponents.
  • Can literally come out of practically NOWHERE and possibly surprise your opponent.
  • Very common and easy to master.
Cons:
  • Easy to notice patterns if you don't mix-it-up.

Defense
A more harder to play archetype, players that rely on patterns and predicting, waiting to get that very hard punish. Or you could stand back wait, hit, wait, hit, repeat but then you have info to punish anyways.
Pros:
  • Hard to punish because of defensive behavior.
  • Easy hard punishes for over-confident opponents or "mistakes were made"
Cons:
  • High skill in order to master
  • Creative mix-ups can possibly crumble defenses.

Tricky
A playstyle not common like the Defense archetype. This is like a mixture of both with a little bit of surprise in it. At one time you're backing up and then you're up in someones face with a sword up someones chest.
Pros:
  • Plenty of mix-ups to keep your foes confused and on their toes.
  • "Counters" most archetypes because of unique playstyle.
Cons:
  • Also high skill in order to master because you have to know what your opponent is thinking.
  • If you use the same tactic, one of the pros turn against you(the second one).
So yeah, that's how I do this process but sometimes my mind can go pretty complicated. Though I'm not the best PvPer since I'm a Split PvPer and still trying to become at least better than most of the people that can win against me. There are other tutorials better than this but hey, I haven't talked about bows yet! Well it's more simple than melee combat just predict where your opponent is going to be when you fire the arrow so that's it.
I didn't know such a simple pvp game can be so(what's the word im looking for) complex(i needed to google this for a quick sec XD). Though, OITC is toxic, its still a good game(though this game is pretty much dead) and its pretty cool. Also btw dont reply to my comment saying "OITC died a very long time ago" I know that OK.

It's alright, I just like the game itself, the toxic community makes me want to jump out a window not like I would do that(I hear people telling me to). At least I am friends with people with a personality better than toxic.

For people saying oitc is “trash” mhm and “toxic” like just don’t play it, as simple as that , I don’t see the point of calling the game toxic or trash like the “toxic players” won’t disappear or something.

I agree, teammates bad OITC, but if I am solo, other players do not go solo, when I started playing OITC, it was practically 15vs1 16/16 or when I had several players, I lost about 200 times, I think everyone should say Dm when playing start, so everyone can have a chance to win.
