i care because it's toxic.

yes, competition is good. the leaderboard is a nice goal for people. but the thing is, this is a video game.

people love playing games, but getting on a leaderboard drags them in, more. and that is the problem.

people have lives. lives that they are discarding and forgetting, just for a video game. everyone hates school but it's essentially the key to actually having a life. this is especially true for kids/teenagers—which is what this community is made of. mostly. (the average age is like 14 isn't it.) and what about people? you can't bond with your friends or family in real life when you're too invested in a game?

video games is a distraction. video games take people away from their lives, and are going to, eventually, ruin it.


that's why i care.

In my opinion, I feel like people like competition, but not too much competition to the point where they don't stand a chance, or they aren't confident enough, and that is where feelings and emotions emerge.

I agree with Woona and Patty. It’s okay to have an objective and compete but it becomes unfair and obsessive when people do /hub or disconnect before they die or loss because they don’t want to ruin their stats.

This is getting ridiculous.
I don't wanna cause drama or blahblah but I wanna state my opinion just like befib.
Brlns in 2016-2017 were filled with players who plays fairly and not thirsty for levels.
Straight when MM and SPLT came out the server became so unfair. Players play for exp. All legends in SPLT r in ldb level. and ldb global is filled with MM legends.
I mean I just don't understand why cant it all be fair. why is everyone so desperate to be on the ldb why cant we all be fair.

TBH I know Im in mm ldb and global cause of MM. But I could care less if they made It harder to win and get less wins. even if the game didn't exist I dont mind. atleast it isn't filled with tryhards. I only play MM to avoid people I hate..I try to stop its hard. Dang I wish MM could be harder to win and SPLT and QUAKE gives less exp...would bring so much joy and fairness to people.
Im not hating on anyone. Im just saying. I rlly need the old brlns back. But its too late now.

even the old people quiting. Id love to mention them. there were so many old legends back then that would make the server bright and happy. they all officially quited and all that's left is players who plays too much. I do too but mostly Im in lobby.
This above message abt quiting is specially stated to an MM close friend of mine. I miss them so much in the server. even tho they play too much idc. they made joy in the server and after I heard they quit I felt like I wanted to go jump off a cliff cause the server got too much worse..and even other legends and old players we miss..some of you already know who Im talking about.
Please don't give hate to this. I just wanna state my opinion and see what you guys think...

I agree dng used to be fun and quake too I’m not naming any names but some people just come in become a legend tryhard to become 1st tryhards think that being 1st is the only way ya to play brlns
And people might say “OH LUCAS U PLAY LOTS OF QUAKE FOR LEVELS” that’s true I do play for levels, but not like tryhards that get 50 a day ._. That’s just stupid if someone were on my friend list as a vip they will know I go on different servers but I feel like quake is fun also thats why I quit quake I had enough of those tryhards

Oof, I shouldn't have a say in this, since I came like few months ago. But I honestly think that this argument depends on your perspective. People play videogames for various reasons. Some play for fun, while others play to accomplish something. Both reasons are completely valid, because it is a fact: everyone is different. To respect this, it would be best to just play for what you value. If you like to play for fun, then you should just play! The ldb shouldn't matter, nor tryharders. But, this also makes people who actually want to have fun angry, because they do not actually get to enjoy the game since some person decides to leave the game. The solution? If there could be a penalty system for leaving the game, then tryharders will actually have to play to the end. Or, you could find people who actually want to play for fun and play fair (like me ). But, don't ruin your mood for other people. Everyone is just... different

Ikr i hate this ldb tryhards, honestly I myself play for lvls, but I do that because the game i used to play and play sometimes is TSW and with all the time i played I got literally no exp, If tsw gave more lvks I would be like lvl 500. I remember the old days where all you do was play with your friends, after myfriends lwft and stopped playing I kept working hard to become a TSW ldb, ya know AmyMi, Spidercraft and some of TSW legends, I used to play with them for fun at the start (somw of them were legends already) now with all of these leaderboard tryhards skywars and tsw have gotten frustrating, I had to be inactive for a while since I had no wifi, when I came back I saw all these new ldb ppl that ive never seen before. Yeah I do miss when ppl used to play for fun (2017).



Yeah ik that my signature says that I wanna become a HS legend, but its because that I actually enjoy the game and have fun playing it.

I suggest adding new minigames such as Death run or Turf wars or Arcade Games ( mix of gladiators , OITC , Bomb lobbers , dragon escape )

Just another example of my opinion, today I hit lvl 200, Ive been playing bll for 1 and a half year. Today I played MM and HS I lvled up 10 lvls.

I have been on brokenlens since last summer. At first I just played tbb because I LOVE building. I played all the time . I have never cared about being on the ldb or legends , nor have I ever cared about my levels much. Let me tell you though, people get angry when u pass them on the legends . I had someone hack my account and say rude things to my friends. They even unfriended some of my friends. That is when I stepped back from tbb and decided a game wasn't worth "triggering" people or being personally attacked. I now play Splatter all the time because I LOVE it, not b/c of the exp at all . I also love that I am good but not great at it because I don't have to deal with angry people calling me a "tryhard" or a "hacker". For me, brokenlens is a fun hobby where I have made some great friends . I always try to be accepting of new players, they , and the older players are what keep brokenlens going. I have friends who are level 5 and friends who are in the thousands . I agree that friendly competition is a good thing. I think everyone needs to remember that they were a "noob" once too. Dang, I feel like I should start singing Kumbaya......
