i care because it's toxic.
yes, competition is good. the leaderboard is a nice goal for people. but the thing is, this is a video game.
people love playing games, but getting on a leaderboard drags them in, more. and that is the problem.
people have lives. lives that they are discarding and forgetting, just for a video game. everyone hates school but it's essentially the key to actually having a life. this is especially true for kids/teenagers—which is what this community is made of. mostly. (the average age is like 14 isn't it.) and what about people? you can't bond with your friends or family in real life when you're too invested in a game?
video games is a distraction. video games take people away from their lives, and are going to, eventually, ruin it.
that's why i care.
