“Well, nice to meet you and all the jazz, but I'm not up for talking right now. Gotta unpack and stuff,” Rouge said. She pushed Rundas out the door and said, “I'll talk to you at dinner.”
“Wai—” before Rundas could finish his sentence, the door was slammed into his face. “Dang it, tough crowd.” Rundas sighed and walked back to his room.
Just as Rundas lay on his bed, there was a knock on his door.
“Come in,” Rundas said. He turned towards the door and looked up from where he lay on his bed. A girl with long, blonde hair was walking towards him. As she reached the side of the bed, she sat on the floor, waved, and smiled.
“Hi there! I'm Elania. Nice to meet you,” the girl said. Her white teeth shimmered in the light.
“Hi. The name's Rundas. I assume next-door roommate?” Rundas said.
“Yup. So... nice to meet you!”
“Same here.”
“It'll be nice living with 22 other strangers, don't you agree? We can get to know more people, make more friends, and all that stuff.”
“I guess you have a point, but what if there's someone here who's anti-social, or, introverted or something like that?”
“Don't worry, I'll get them to talk.”
“If you say so.” Just as Rundas finished his sentence, there was a knock at the door. Elania got up and opened the door, while Rundas got off his bed and straightened his shirt.
“Dinner is ready Miss, Sir,” the man at the door said. Elania and Rundas followed him out and walked to the dining room while trading jokes with each other, and laughing their head off.
As Rundas and Elania sat down, still talking to each other, Rundas noticed Rouge talking to a boy with hair black as night, who was wearing a blue sweater.
Rundas realised he wasn't paying to attention to Elania anymore, so he looked towards her, and heard the ending to a joke. The person who was seated on the other side of Elania laughed too, and they asked Elania if they could join in trading jokes.
“Rundas, this is Shielo. Shielo, this is Rundas,” Elania said. Rundas smiled at Shielo.
“Nice to meet you, Shielo,” Rundas held out his hand for Shielo to shake.
“Nice to meet you too, Rundas,” Shielo smiled, and shook Rundas' hand.
