The thread is Old That's why threads are locked because of how long they exist or if no one responds.

This is what I am trying to figure out. Why lock a thread if it is not inappropriate or causing arguments? Why lock it just because it is old? That makes no sense because the same issue or question may come up again months later or for new users. Then instead of replying with their specific question on that thread topic, they have to start a new thread because that one was locked.

This thread for instance. I wanted to find out why old threads were locked. I put in a search and got a bunch of locked threads that didn't explain anything. Then I found this old thread that want locked and is asking the same thing, sort of.

Just because a thread has not been replied to for a while should not mean it should be locked. Or does Brokenlens have this as a forum rule because I. Couldnt find it.

Forgive me if I am wrong.
