Why is there a maximum password length for when you are registering your account?

I haven't seen any other services that limit the maximum length that you can assign a password.
Is there a good reason for there being a limitation when registering in game?

Definitely seems to me like a potential security risk especially given how easily people can brute force with shorter passwords.

You are limited to setting your password in game to 16 characters or less.
You can make a password between 8 and 16 characters when you register an account.
I'm not really sure why this is a limitation.

I think it was just a limit set by developers, a stupid limit though to be honest. It does seem like a major risk though so i do hope the staff team fixes it soon. Now that its been pointed out someone could get the wrong idea

Why do you want a Password to be very long?

I don’t see why anyone would want to ‘hack’ your account.

Only vertx can ‘fix’ this, although it doesn’t have to be ‘fix’.

If you don’t like your password then just ask for a password reset.

I’m pretty sure no one is going to guess it, unless it’s: 123456

I know but that’s one of the perks of having a long password but if you’re password is complex then it’s not likely someone will hack into your account.

Only vertx can ‘fix’ this, although it doesn’t have to be ‘fix’.

If you don’t like your password then just ask for a password reset.

There’s a reason for everything, vertx decided to make the capacity 16 letters long. Like I said, If you don’t like (or remember) your password, then ask for a password reset.

Probably has something to do with limitations in the system/program that Vertx uses to hash & encrypt the passwords

also- really? my password is 6 characters long lol. (I set it when I was like, 9 and just haven't gotten around to changing it)
