Sorry for the long wait, I’ve been super busy and just came around to doing this! It gets more interesting I swear-, Enjoy.
Sunday 1:45am.
The tree branches scraped against the window making sleep impossible for Arwa, she tossed and turned in her bedsheets trying to block out the sound. She looked over at Madi and Lyn who where sleeping sound, ‘I wish it wasn’t so windy outside’ she thought to herself. A bit annoyed, she huffed and climbed out of bed, the floorboards creaked as she tiptoed downstairs . Her mother, Icy, always stayed up at unimaginable hours writing stores and books. So Arwa knew she would be awake.
Icy leant her head in her hands trying to Finnish the last chapter to her novel, she roughly scribbled some ideas on a stray piece of paper. “Baleful, perfect!” She said to herself typing the last sentence onto her typewriter, Arwa snuck downstairs to her mother who was tapping away at the keys. Icy turned her head around to Arwa who was peaking behind the doorway, “what are you doing up so late?” She said in a worrisome tone. “I couldn’t sleep properly, the large tree outside keeps bothering me” Arwa explained. “Again? We cut back the branches just last week...- why don’t we sort the tree out in a few hours, but first you should get to sleep. There’s some blankets in the ottoman” Icy pointed to the cream coloured sofa area in their living room.
Arwa slowly walked over to the ottoman and pulled up the top to reveal a few cotton blankets, she grabbed about two and curled up onto the sofa to try get some sleep. Icy on the other hand, could not sleep until she finished...
Sunday 7:27am
Icy woke up to her three daughters playing upstairs, she took a second to regain consciousness before seeing the state of her garage. The wind from last night blew over a tree and it broke a large hole in the house.
She rubbed her eyes unsure if it was a dream or reality. Either way she was lucky it didn’t hit her. “Madi, arwa, Lyn, come down here please!” Icy commanded. They ran down the stairs laughing until they saw the large tree that left a hole in the roof. “Maybe it heard you say that you would cut the branches” arwa joked, trying to lighten up the situation.
Icy pushed the plastic and wood to the side, “hmmm... maybe we should hire someone to fix it, or maybe fix it ourselves...” Icy contemplated. “Wait, didn’t ally say she was good at this sort of stuff when the town hall needed fixing?” Lyn stated. “Hey yea, she was the one who helped Steph when a bird broke her window” Madi chimed in. “Well it’s sunday, and quite early, maybe she’s in town? She is known for being quite an early bird on the weekend” Arwa suggested to Icy. She paused for a second, Icy covered some of the holes the trees made and turned to the girls. “Okay, we better make it quick since we don’t want to be robbed while we are out”. The girls ran to the front door and put on their shoes and coats. ‘Wallet, keys... Phone!’ Icy grabbed the objects and unlocked the door. Since they live opposite a like the girls love looking out over the water but they couldn’t today..
“Why is it so misty?” Arwa said quite confused, since she’d never seen mist this thick. “I have no idea, maybe we should hurry before we can’t see the road properly” Icy said while leading them towards their car. “Shotgun!” Lyn said as she climbed into the front seat, Arwa and Madi huffed as they got in the back. “Right, we will only be about 20 minutes then we can go home” .
Sorry about that! I haven’t wrote anything in ages. It’s gonna get way more interesting as it goes along <3 If you want to be tagged in future stories just comment below! bare with me since I have a lot on my hands at the moment!
