Why does it take more hits to kill now?

So before, we didn't have the hit like ten times to kill someone, it was so easy, like we only hit them a couple times and it was easy and now it takes for ever to kill them.. Why? It's so weird and so.. Like I don't like it at all, it just gets on my nerves.

Really?
Back then, I thought it was harder because everything (from fist to diamond sword) did the same amount of damage as a fist. Therefore, it was harder than before.
Although, the bow damage probably should be nerfed...
