Personal opinion:
What's wrong with having them? I couldn't name a single thing other than:
"Reminders of the cringy sides of fandoms" which isn't always the case unless you prefer to stick with that, go with it. Except that can frustrate some people such as me and get into arguements whether fandoms or sh*tty or just as fortunate as getting a kill streak and dominating a match with beloved pros.

I would explain but thers over a million fandoms, but still, look at the mlp fandom, a fandom aimed for young girls, yet it has middle age men in it who bully hirls for liking certain characters (this was in the news ages ago)

Because today's society is so retarded that people go back to the age when America was very judgy on what you are. You're a furry? Well f*ck you says some people. Gay? Well f*ck you others say. Black? Well arrest the mofo cuz f*ck you more others may say. Asian? Do my f*cking homework even if you're a delinquent. That didn't actually happen back then but damn nearly all my friends go through depression because they like something "unique."
