Why am I seeing my own threads

So what it used to be like was I would make a thread and I wouldn't be able to get to it unless some1 quoted me on something or if I searched for it...
Was that just a bug or something because now I am seeing my threads

Its called alerts. when u visit one of the bolded threads it disappeared from the New Posts section. Most ppl check alerts first.
