A conversation is created by a staff member telling the offender to not repeat the offence which has given them a warning point. But I think it's not that common. Staff members might post it on your profile.

If I give a user a warning point I’ll pvt them on the server, I’d assume the others would do the same.

Example: Hazard posted on Mr. CupQuakes profile about something he did about spamming back in November.
Sometimes, I believe it is added without the person knowing.
Example: There was an argument in a thread a while back and someone asked "will we get warning points?" And another staff member said "there will definitely be wanting points given out" and I believe the thread was then locked.

You could just ask how many warning points you have if you were curious.

The warning points system was back when the server required members to provide their email address when creating an account. A warning would have been sent to the users email address provided when they created their account. This feature is either still being worked on or has been abandoned in the recent updated to the BrokenLens Network due to the introduction of Xbox Live being required on 1.2.x
I am not sure if this system will continue to be used as the server continues to progress.

Forum Warnings
If you mean being warned on our forums..
Players can receive warnings on our forums for any inappropriate behaviour such as inappropriate links, advertising servers and hack clients and swearing / inappropriate behaviour. When a player gets set a warning point they can be notified via a conversation on the forums although this option can be disabled by the Moderator. When a player reaches 100 warning points, they will be IP-Banned from our forums.
Normally staff tend to only give a small amount of warning points ranging from 1-5 points per thread depending on the severity of the incident that may have occurred on the forums.
