I was exploring and I found some random chest in the middle of nowhere. Inside it had chain armour, a leash and the heart of the sea and more stuff. What could it be?

In the aquatic update, they added buried treasure, spawning underground at the edge of oceans, you appeared to have discovered one that was glitched so that it was not underground. Usually finding them is impossible without a treasure map, which you can find in underwater ruins or sunken ships.
