I'm not sure, but this could be coz you're using an APK.

I would suggest installing the actual MC from the store
But I know that most ppl can't afford MC

I suggest checking out JakeMCPE
Because he has some apks which actually work and you can join servers.

It means that your Minecraft version isn't supported by our network.

I suppose what you are saying is that:
He has a newer version of Minecraft that the BL server hasn't updated to
Since he has version 1.2.10.1(beta, it doesn't matter beta or not)
And I assume the server only updated to version 1.2.10
