Don't quote me on this but this is what I've heard;

PocketCraft was a super old server (by vertx) which ended up being deleted due to extreme lag. BrokenLens was the new & improved server after what had happened to PocketCraft. Vertx wanted a new beginning - like a better future server & the name "BrokenLens" randomly popped in his mind and ever since the server has been called that
