people are asked to give their "welcome back" screenshot to prove they own their account. but, is it a good proof? i mean, i could just trick someone to send me a screeshot of their welcome back, wait for them to go offline, ask mod to reset password with the pic, set new password, and then quickly buy transfer ticket to change the ign

I’m not sure how else you’d expect us to reset their password, if you have any suggestions that’d be great though! We have many questions we can ask in order for players to prove they own the account, but we advise everyone not to share their information at all. If they’re tricked into giving screenshots of ‘welcome back [username]!’ then it’s not necessarily our fault they didn’t question why someone needed it. (╯3╰)

We look into these things very carefully and make sure whoever is trying to reset the password owns the account, we also don’t let friends of friends try resetting someone else’s password and we make the actual owner do it themselves, etc.

you could possibly have them do /mystats, since that has diff info on there than someone else doing /stats, so you know that it's the real player doing it
