They did that because instead of people breaking the lava (Which is glitch exploiting) they would place down blocks and then break them to make the lava disappear

then why cant u block up lava and water? it is annoying in some maps in skywars where u can easily fall into lava or get stuck in the water and cant get up

I'm trying to explain it to you, If you break the lava in ANY way, It's glitch exploiting. This is how they fixed it
