I understand that's it's laggy but your iPad malfunctioning most likely had nothing to do with quakecraft

It's getting hotter because unlike many other small Mobile games, All the particle effects and players moving faster on your screen is making your ipad processor and graphics processor to process things more faster than the supposed, which will heat up your device, This will happen in any graphic-demanding game, and your device is prepared to handle that, it'll not blow up or anything like that!
