Downside is not being able to respond to messages quickly, but at least your device wouldn’t start blurting out the discord call sound at a bad time
Important edit: however, I recommend you own an iPad or some kind of laptop or computer for this- I’ve tried using this on my phone but the entire thing is squished because phones have small screens that the web isn’t adjusted for- only app works on phone

Hey im sorry im bothering u with this again, but how do i know that someone sent me a message if i was offline or called or anything, like is there an alert box for website discord?

Yeah, it would show which person or group chat you have unread messages on by showing the person’s pfp or group chat icon with a red number of how many unread messages there are. There is also an icon that shows you all your unread messages from server channels and dms, and a red number shows up on server icons if someone has tagged you (the number shows how many times you’ve been tagged in that server, and shows you which channel you’ve been tagged). There’s also a way you can just get immediately taken to the message you’ve been tagged on instead of painfully scrolling through 100+ messages to see what you’ve been tagged for
To show what I mean, here’s a photo I took last January cuz I had so many unread messages and pings lol (the red number on the discord icon at the top shows that I have a friend request from someone) (and don’t mind why the photo looks weird- it was cropped like that but it wouldn’t let me post it so I just screenshotted the picture itself)

Nah xD I just wanted to know about that stuff, other than that all good, I'm creating my discord account in 2 days so I wanted to know about this last thing, thanks maegan :D
