Uhh Writing Ideas?

So I entered a local writing contest where you write the story in another language, and the prizes are 1 gift card (most likely choice), and up to $500

3 people as winners for each age group, so yeah. Anyway, Im writing about animals since that’s one writing prompt, and apparently, have no ideas because it needs to be “kid friendly” (Yes, I am not good at kid friendly writing -_-)

Help please? Suggestions, really. like, what should I write about and what animals should be in it?

I would suggest writing about a boy (or girl) who has a best friend which is an animals.

Or, you could write about an animals adventure through the woods.

Or, you could write a vignette about animals.

Make sure everythings sugar coated but still has a theme, keep it consistant, And only the littlest sprinkle of romance :p

Well if you want it to be inspiring, make it about animal abuse.
If it’s just for fun and you don’t really care whether you win or no, make it about a human being able to speak with animals.
Or maybe make it about an animal that transform into something else at a certain time and they can’t control it. (Sort of like a werewolf or vampire but not completely)
Another one would be that there was a science experiment gone wrong and now there’s a human-animal hybrid on the loose. Whether it’s vicious or nice, your choice.

For the first idea the best animal would be either a cat or dog, since they are more likely to be house pets and yeah..
For the second one, all types of animals. Or if you want it to be unique, maybe the human can only talk to one specific type of animal. (e.g. they can only talk to all breeds of birds, but no other animal)
For the third one, any animal will do. But to make it interesting - maybe it’s an animal by day and a human by night? The opposite of how a werewolf would work.
For the last one, maybe choose an animal that wouldn’t normally be used to be combined with a human. e.g. a giraffe or shark. It’ll make the story more interesting.
