tnt run can make players randomly leave the game

In tnt run i’ve noticed as this has happened to me quite a lot that sometimes when you start a game of tnt run when the countdown finishes suddenly you can be teleported to the lobby. sometimes several players are teleported and then they have to join again. is this because of a glitch or deliberate to help w the lag in the game?
