Everyone had gotten their new role. No one was complaining nor mourning after Kota and Kitten's death, as if they've accepted their fate. They will just eventually die, and no one could ever survive.
The only hope was to find out why they were here, confined in this lethal and violent game.
"So… Here I announce that round two has started! Beware!" the radio turned off right after the sentence finished.
"WAIT!" said Jason, "i have a question to ask, is the one who took us here playing the game with us?"
Everyone was shocked since this might be a possible situation. If the planner itself is right in the game, figuring out who it is and eliminating it will be the best strategy to escape.
"Well, I could say, yes." said VOID.
"No way that psycho is here with us… just no…" Kimmy cried, "did you see how Kitten died? Did you?! Who would feed lions with a living human? Frick this place…"
"Hey, hey, we got this okay? Just try to figure out why we're where and who it was that kidnapped us, then it'll be fine." Shive tried to calm Kimmy down, but she's still yelling like she's being chased by a killer. "AH, lemme out of this frinkin' place! Screw you!"
She ran out of the execution room, and everyone slowly got out of the chamber.
Zabbyy went up to the second floor to get some books to read so that he could kill time. Just one step into the library, he saw Foz was lying comfortably on the couch, reading a book of Sherlock's. He slowly sneaked into the library, trying not to catch Foz's attention. He tried his best not to make any noise, and also observed Foz if his eyes were staring at his book.
"Hey Zab," said Foz, "what cha doin' here? Kill me?"
"Ahhh!" cried Zabbyy. He was sure that Foz never got his eyes away from his novel. "N- no… I- I just wanna ge- get some books…"
"Why are you so nervous though?" said Foz, reading his books.
"I- I didn't want to di- disturb you so…"
There's tears in his eyes. "I want to go home…" he murmured.
"Well, I'm not always sleeping as you can see, and I'm surprised I'm still alive, folk." his eyes were sticked to those words in the book while he was speaking, "and I highly suspect Icy was the one who planned everything, she was too smart."
"But why would she make all of these though? If she can use her intelligence to kill all of us, why would she take the risk of being killed?"
"Well, that's just a theory. I don't know who that was since we can only see the tip of the 'Icy-berg'." Foz smiled. "Anyways, did you know that those radios aren't radios? They are actually security cameras that observe us 24 hours a day, and it's kinda creepy, not gonna lie."
Zabbyy looked up at the ceiling, and there was a radio on the corner of the library. As he took a deep look at it, there's dim red light shining from the audio output part, twinkling. As what he remembered, cameras all had that kind of light.
He felt a sudden cold at his back.
"I see…"
"Well, if you're done with picking your books, please leave me alone, I want to study those crimes…" he sighed, "maybe it'll be the way I die to, who knows?"
Foz made a gesture wishing Zabbyy to leave him. Zabbyy then took a random book and left the library.
"Hey guys! Look what I just found!" Nickle took some chocolate bars from the fridge and started to split in into pieces, "do you want some?"
He gave some to Icy who was eating the sandwich Kitten made for them, but she refused.
"Sorry, I'm not feeling good- you can share them with others." her face was pale white, and her hand was pressing her stomach.
"Are you alright?Icy?"
She went to the bathroom before Nickle could finish his sentence.
"Ah, fine. Hope you are ok."
He then took a piece of sandwich and took a bite of it. "Woo, nice one!" he said, and took another into his mouth.
It's already evening, and it's time for him to shift to guard the weapons. He yawned, and slowly walked to the weapons.
“Nickle, Nickle! Are you okay?"
Nickle slowly opened his eyes, and the faces he saw were all blurry. A few seconds later, he realized he was lying on the cold hard floor. "Oh my god, why am I here?" he asked.
Shive helped him up, "I walked by and saw you lying here… were you attacked by the killer?"
He was unstable and has a hard time to balance himself. "I don't think so… all I remembered was guarding here…"
"So someone must took the weapon here and killed Foz…" he sighed, "like really? If you weren't being attacked then why are you here sleeping on the floor?" Shive scolded.
"It wasn't me! I didn't mean to! All I did was eating two pieces of sandwich and them I came!" he cried.
"Sandwich… that's literally what Icy ate before she got sick." said Kimmy, eating the chocolate bars he dropped. "She is now lying on the bed in the small bedroom. I will take care of her. Also, I think the sandwiches may have something bad inside them."
"Make sense," Shive said, "a lot of things happened when you're out."
"Foz was dead…? How?" Nickle found the way to balance himself under the severe headache.
"Yuxxa found his body in the library. He was smashed on the head and the face, he died in a way that's too tragic to look at…" said Shive, "and we have no clues and the smartest girl is unavailable now 'cause she's sick right now… bruh."
They then realized how terrible the situation was. Not only could they die in this game, but also could be killed in an inhumane way- including being executed. The amount of players were decreasing in a fast way, and it wouldn't take long for the "real killer" to wipe all of them out.
"We can make this." said Kimmy, "we don't need Icy, we can make it, we have brains man!"
"Huh, let's see what will happen when a group of kids play 'house' together and play as detectives."
"Shive!"
All of them regrouped in the library where Foz's body was lying. Icy was still too weak to join, but her sickness had proven her innocence. Some of them weren't able to watch how terrible the body was since the face was in flesh and blood, and the head was badly mutilated. It was so hard to identify who it was since the face was totally destroyed.
"Lord, this killer must hate this poor guy..." said Nickle.
"True… I hope I wouldn't die in this way…" Yuxxa sighed. "I was horrified when I found his body here, I wasn't expecting this thing could happen that fast… I just wanted to get some books."
"Poor you," said Zack, "I got some books to read though."
"Oh, that's great- Zabbyy are you okay?"
Zabbyy was trembling in the corner of the library, sobbing. "I wanna go home… let me go home… please…!"
"I think he wouldn't have the courage to kill someone in this way, just- ignore him this round." Kimmy was watching him, rolling her eyes up.
"Ah, fine. So, what are we gonna do?" asked Shive.
No one's replying nor taking any actions. The atmosphere was pretty awkward for a moment. Everyone was just browsing others' eyes and nothing else happened.
"Well, so Zack, you said you've brought some books here… have you seen Foz here when you came?" Kimmy started first, staring at Zack.
"Yea, I saw him here and I've chatted with him a bit." they replied.
"What book did you take?"
Zack hesitated. They weren't sure what the book was about since they took it in a rush and did not have time to read it. After they took the book, they went straight up to the bedroom and took a sweet nap there. Zack then left the book on the bed.
Jason ran away without any words.
"Jason? Oh wow he's fast." Yuxxa watched him running away in a speed of light.
He then returned with a book in his hand within a minute. "Here! Look."
"Common ways to kill people in novels… alright, Zack, any last words?" said Eyow, emphasizing.
"WHAT…! No… it wasn't me! I haven't read it yet and I was in a hurry so I-"
"It is just obvious. Look, Nickle was passed out so you can easily get the hammer in the weapons, then you just smacked him in his head and face."
"WHY WOULD I?!" Zack cried, "I just lost Kota so I was overtaken by grief… why would I kill someone then!"
"That's literally why you want to kill someone, to release your anger." Eyow replied.
"But Foz told me that Zabbyy also took a book there! Why must it be me?"
Everyone then turned to Zabbyy. "He is just too weak to kill people, you know." said Shive, laughing.
"Anyways it's not me! You guys will regret it if you really gonna vote me out!" Zack was kind of angry. They couldn't really get themselves clean nor prove others were guilty.
"Why are you so intense? No one said they want to vote you out though…" said Kimmy, "this only makes you suspicious."
"FINE! You know what, just vote me out! You guys will regret it a lot, a lot…" Zack yelled, "I will meet Kota in the heaven I believe."
"Well, I mean, are we really gonna vote Zack out? I think they're innocent?" Jason said.
"Zack is a- a good fr- friend… they are kind…" Zabbyy kept sobbing.
"Look, Zack is too suspicious and there's no other proof to make any further changes." said Eyow, "I'll vote them. Say 'I' if you agreed to vote Zack."
"I." said Shive.
"I." said Kimmy.
"I'll skip… I don't believe Zack will kill…" said Zabbyy, drying his tears.
"Ah… I'm persuaded. I'll vote Zack too." said Yuxxa.
"Me too, sorry Zack but… I think you killed Foz." said Nickle, tapping on Zack's shoulder.
"I think my vote wouldn't change anything… I'll skip." said Jason.
Everyone glanced at each other without any communication.
"Void! Come out! We've decided!" Kimmy shouted.
The radio made a familiar turning-on noise. "Well then! I am here, your greatest AI host. Who you guys vote?"
"Zack." she replied.
"Hoho, it seemed to be interesting. Let's go to the execution room shall we?"
In the execution room, there's nothing but walls.
"Well well, player Zack! Please stand onto the platform. Thank you."
Zack went onto the small platform with two walls right next to him calmly. They seemed to be very calm at this moment although he knew what's going to happen.
"Any last words? Player Zack?" said VOID.
"I will meet you in heaven Kota… I will. You're not alone anymore. Wait for me, it's not gonna be too long… I'm coming for you..."
There's tears running down from Zack's eyes. "I'm done with my last words."
"Then- Let's get started!"
The walls started to push forward ro Zack slowly. "Oh no, not like this…" said Yuxxa.
The two walls got closer to Zack, making them a human sandwich.
"See you guys next life." said Zack.
After the sentence finished, the walls collapsed into each other, and all they could hear was the sound of bone fracturing.
"Oh god… rest in peace." said Zabbyy, still wiping his tears.
"Ah… another execution… I felt so bad watching these happening." Shive sighed.
"Well, let me announce that you've made it wrong! Player Zack is innocent this round unfortunately!"
No one spoke.
Another round had to be started. Everyone got their new roles and again, with desperation. Icy was fully recovered thanks to Kimmy's treatment. Icy was surprised that Foz was killed and Zack was executed. But what she'd never thought, was the fact that she's the killer this round.
She stared at the closed door of the execution room.
I will never be executed, she said to herself.
