I've seen it before, The glowing, most overpowered crystal ball that the world could've ever dreamed off. The crystal ball was founded in the 1940s and it's now overprotected by the most topped agents in the most famous museum in the entire plant. Everyone comes towards it every single year to look at the fabulous painted that are gathered up in the museums. But the main reason why people come towards the museum every single year is to watch the glowing, crystal ball shimmer every second in a blink of an eye.
One of the reasons why people love the crystal so much is because if you get closer to it, it can tell you your feature depending on how many years you want to go into it. The museum opens at 9 A.m and closes at 8Pm No. If anyone is wondering if you could break into this museum, well, I wish you the best of luck my friend cause not even in your dreams you could break into this museum and steal the crystal ball. The museum is overprotected by lasers inside and outside the museum. Guards in every single corner, waiting for someone to dare themselves to break into the museum. I tell you, this museum hasn't even be tried to be broken in, that is until this one fateful night.
Chapter 1?
November 13, 2001
I was walking home from a nice trip I had in Pennsylvania I went a few days ago. I was excited but also bumped out that my vacation is over and that I had to go back to school tomorrow. My teachers will probably be happy to see me... ready to kill me with the homework they will be holding in their hands for me. It's like I can't escape this nightmare I already am in. I slowly clogging my feet together, making a click sound as I took a step on the sidewalk.
On my way back to my house, I spotted some 6-year-old kids playing some volleyball in their yard. It gave my heart a warm smoosh as it reminded me of the times I used to have while my dad was still alive at the time. May his soul rest in peace. Hello, I'm Jake if I haven't introduced myself yet. I kinda was those kinds of kids that don't really go outside that often but then again, who goes outside anymore? I had my sister Emma living with me which by the way, she's 16 and pretty annoying hearing her talk about her boyfriend every single day in her room. Our room was pretty much together with a giant wall separating us.
Lastly, I had the most amazing mom a kid could ever ask for. She was always giving us everything he wants for a special event. But that's not why I love her the most oh no. She puts 101 percent in her work in helping us grow up and have a better feature when we grow up. She even has to get 2 jobs to take care of us both for the food every week. I tell you, that's a mom that never grew up to gave up on some awesome kids she has if I do say so myself. My sister on the other hand... eh, I don't really know about her but I guess being a teenager really does change you in a bad way.
Before I knew it, it was already dawn and I haven't even got home from the plane flight. Oh yes, I had to wake home since nobody here bothered to pick me up from the flight. I took every single step like I was going to face some kind of superhero from Marvel Studios. The heart beats inside of me made my nerves go up like fireworks; waiting for my mom to give me the biggest hug in her life.
Now, you might be asking yourself, "Oh Jake, it's just a hug! Don't be such a chicken about it!" Listen, you haven't felt her hugs yet so don't start to complain about "it's just a hug." I finally got to my house with the blue door facing right in front of me. My hand shook in place as I started to reach my pinky finger towards the doorbell to my house.
I felt like I was about to ask my crush out on a date when really, I was coming back home; waiting for my sister to complain about why I came so early from my trip when I could've stayed in Pennsylvania some for. My sister and I never got along since the day she was born and I probably guessed the same when I was born. The minute I was born, my sister which was like 3 at the time started to give me the L shape on her forehead. At that point, I knew that our blood didn't match the friendship or brotherhood we were going to have lived with each other.
My dad died around when my sister was 8 when I was also only 4. I didn't know about it until my mom started to talk to her brothers on the phone; fast forwarding, crying for like 4 hours so. The family hasn't been the same since then. Our dad will also be the big goofball that would do funny stuff when it came to holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas. But now without him, it felt like we didn't exactly have the fun and it was all because of him.
Anyway, I got over with it in a year or so and moved on with life. I stepped back as I waited for someone to open the door for me. I probably waited too long cause I was getting frostbites on my chin, also spreading onto my hand afterward. I rang the bell once more to make sure that they didn't miss the first bell I rang. Still no answer. The sky above me was getting so dark that by 20 minutes as past, it would be completely pitch black in the neighborhood. "Great!" I told myself in a shiver. I had no other choice but to go into town and try to find them myself.
Besides, they didn't bother to take the car to wherever they were going. So this made my job much easier to find them in this dark place. I headed for the town with my jacket ripped up from the back but who cared. It was my mom fault that she couldn't afford me a new jacket. I paused for a second to realize the words that just came out of my mouth. "I'm sorry!" I started to pray to god like it some kind of sin I just committed.
After I finished my praying with was totally unnecessary, I started to make myself into town, my hands still freezing to death. I started to notice that this wasn't as protected as it used to be back then. I remembered exactly a few 4 years ago, someone always used to make a hot chocolate stand that says on the white flag, "Free hot chocolate." Sadly after a few years, she moved to Texas and now, fast forwarding into today, nobody bothered to take over place nor dared to. I tell you, we lose the best people on the plated and not the bad ones cause that's life sees us.
I made it into town after a few minutes of getting my shoes unstuck from the mud I stepped on. The town was as nominal as usually. People passing by either by their wife or husband or they were just shopping for something down by the market. Oh, how I wished I could have a few bucks on me so I could by myself a hot coffee down by the nearest Starbucks. I decided to head for the museum since that was basically the only place us cool kids go to.
The only reason why we go there is to see the gigantic crystal ball that shimmed every single day. The crystal ball looked at its best at nighttime due to the lights lighting up like a ferris wheel lights that could be seen from miles away. I started to think to myself this question, "Why don't I ever get to see the feature when I go up to the ball?" I think it's best that I tell you now. When I was little, every single day I would happily climb up the stair to the museum, in hopes of me seeing my feature from the crystal ball. Never in my life, I ever saw even a dust into my feature.
I gave up doing so at around the age of 12 when I heard a couple of people saying that you can't actually see your feature. And if you do see something coming from it, it's probably only particles that make the crystal ball light up. What a great way to destroy a kids dream and into today, I still believed that rumor. Now, let me tell you the backstory of the museum. The museum always opens at 9 in the morning and closes around 8 in the nighttime. But when they close up, they close the museum up like it was some mid of vault they were hiding.
For some reason, the government doesn't trust us not to robe anything in the museum which is why this is the only museum that opens and closes every single day. The main reason why the government decided to have an open and closing museum is because we were the only museum that had 1 billion worth dollar crystal from the entire world.
I mean, I wouldn't see why they won't have an open and closing museum at times like these. That Crystal ball probably took ages to make or build by hands. So that being said, I guess it's best that we have the biggest crystal ball in the entire world, yet, we were the only museum that had an open and closing museum every single day. "Hmm." I thought to myself while biting down my frozen lips. I remembered in my mind that I came here for another reason but I couldn't make a touch to it.
So at that point, I thought it would've been a great idea to go up to the crystal ball and see if it could tell me where in the world my parents were. As I walked into the museum, I felt a warm spot coming from my chest; trying to tell me something but I couldn't make a good point out of it. I looked around to see that nobody was in the museum. From a far distance, I could've sworn that I saw a light go off. I thought I was imagining things and that I was tripping but after a minute went by, another light went off.
Suddenly, I heard a loud sound coming from outside. At that point, I knew exactly what was going on. The museum was closing for the day. I knew that I was going to be in massive trouble if they find out that I'm in the museum when they've already closed for the day. Now, as stupid as this government is, they would think of that I was trying to steal a painting when really, I got stuck in the museum by accident.
