First off, I want to start this by mentioning that I respect, and appreciate every single staff member. From highest, to lowest. From most active to least active and their hard work.

I’m not making this thread to start an argument or a fight in the replies whatsoever, I’m writing this to discuss about staff’s activity.

This topic has been talked about a lot, yet of course it has to be turned into people eating each others' throats.

I know that many people are in my shoes, when there are no staff online and there are countless hackers in our games.

I completely understand the timezone difficulties and how this plays a major factor in why staff cannot be online.

This may be solved by having work schedules where they can discuss who will be in charge of the server at this time or that time, so not a specific time for them to forcefully be online. Since of course, staff members also have lives and may be busy at that certain time they have gotten.

Another idea could be to have at least one staff member online at a time. It’s better having one or two staff member online at a time rather than most staff members on at once and none online at all.

Lastly, I would love to suggest a new feature, or command similar to /grm and /frm which is /srm. This could be a messaging command specifically for players in need of a staff member’s help if you don't know where they could be or if they’re online. It could also solve the problem of not having any staff members online in our friend lists, or having any at all. It's also very difficult for us to look for them too, so staff messaging is a brilliant idea of reporting someone while you are in your game.

Thank you for reading this and taking it into consideration.

Matty

Just wanna throw out there the /report command—
It’s very helpful and if staff are online it notifies us that there’s someone who needs our help, already kinda like the /srm you thought of

That is true, though sometimes hackers purposely have really long, confusing names like ‘aksjksksjs288228’ for example. it’s quite hard for the player to type that when using the /report command. though when you use /srm you could just call the staff member to spectate you and find that player ^^
I suppose but when you do /report a tip I know is doing @ and then type their name. Makes it much easier

I don’t like this idea, I appreciate the thought of it but people wouldn’t use this correctly at all. We have thousands of players, I have lots and lots of friends and my chats are always insane & I know most of the other staffs chats are as well.

/report is much more effective and easier for us all, even that command is spammed sometimes with nonsense or people purposely reporting their friends as a joke, playing around with it, etc. even with a time limit on the amount you can send a message or a spam effect it would still be spammed just because there is so many players - our chats would literally never stop.. we always have staff on, if people don’t make an effort to /report them or take screenshots and report them then they can’t complain about us not doing anything whenever we can’t be in every possible game. There’s also always more than one staff online wherever they’re in the build server or doing whatever else.

nobody wants to forcefully work. We don’t get paid, we’re just volunteers. Nobody wants a schedule or specific time we *have* to be online, not only are most of the staff still in school, have families and parents who decide when they can even use a device, nobody wants to be told when to be in the mood to work. It’s like having a schedule on when you can watch YouTube, there’s not always enjoyable content and sometimes there’s nothing at all, like on the server - sometimes there’s barely even hackers and sometimes there’s 500 of them at once, we’re all online everyday and throughout the night - some staff will stay up till 1-4 in the morning just to make sure everything is alright and we even have staff from different timezones, it doesn’t mean we aren’t online if a hacker in your game doesn’t get banned.

you can use /report @[username] to quickly type whichever players name. (Oops didn’t see icy mentioned this)

I don't agree with the work schedule, it's is uptight lol it's basically like a work shift. In a work shift on a job, you get paid, but the staff is doing volunteer work so it is up to staff to decide if they have time to go to the server or do other things. If there was a work schedule in place, it's not going to work because there isn't no magical time for staff to be on. If there was designated time for staff to be on, most likely they can't be on at that time lol.

Oh wow I love this idea!!! This is great! Lol I was thinking about this recently with the whole /srm thing and you beat me to it XD. This is super good hun!

And as I do believe that timezones play apart they arent the issue. Because remember, they need players from multiple timezones as not everyone in the server plays in the same time zone. It could be that majority of the staff might be in the same time zone. And so when they're sleep, there arent many staff on then. But then again lots of our staff play for hours and many will be up until 4 in the morning (cough vertx, khrizz, trenz .-_.- get some sleep before I make you) so idk.

But yes I agree for the staff messaging because many newer players who dont have staff can use that and ask to have staff added into their list owo. Really good.

Also question for staff, I know in game there is the /report where it notifies all staff members when a report comes... i was wondering.

In forums, i was thing why dont we have something similar, like @//staffteam or /staff because I noticed that many people tag staff members who....arent...online and they're are tons who are, and many are people commonly known leaving people who usually arent tagged unaware that a user needs help.

And this command would be the same like /report where it only notifies staff online so that the staff isnt being spammed -._-.

I can kinda still see staff getting a little spammed and possibly annoyed with this addition but idk just a thought.... and if this is already a thing please feel free to correct me or let me know (I was gonna abbreviate lmk but it felt tacky qwq)

No I mean in forums hehe.

So I know when you make a ban appeal or report in forums it notifies staff correct? Well what about regular threads where a person needs help. They usually only ask staff that is more known or they know...but I'm pretty sure majority if not all the staff are capable of helping them.

But still, say I tag ssunsett. She's not online, but you, pine, and ally are, and yall are capable of helping me with what I'm asking. And I really need help. Is there a command where I can notify all online staff instead of just putting ssun, since at the moment she cant help because shes offline?

(Lol as I type this she comes online XD hehe. And please dont misunderstand it's just an example qwq)

I mean you could go right here and see which staff are on! xD

We don’t have a tag like that but most of us view all the threads anyways, it wouldn’t be a bad idea on the forums though.

Oh yea! Good point! Lol I'm dumb, I thought of that but it still flew past my mind. I tend to just tag users and forget to check who's online but I'll be sure to remember checking before ever post something! Thanks maddie!
