staff applications

the staff applications process, to me, is a bit flawed. when i was back here before, ms. pineapple had told me that if you were accepted into staff, you would get the rank on your username, and that process could take up to a YEAR. also, they send you no reason whatsoever. this, to me, is not very efficient. it's kinda like leaving people empty handed and not thinking about them. i would suggest we send emails or private messages to the people that have applied to let them know why they haven't been accepted or they have. thanks for seeing! <3

They don’t tell or notify you when your accepted. They just set your rank for you. It’s basically a surprise! But they also don’t tell you that your not accepted.

They don’t tell or notify you when your accepted. They just set your rank for you. It’s basically a surprise! But they also don’t tell you that your not accepted.

i love surprises, but i don't think it should be implemented in staff requests. i dunno though, that's just me. :3

You technically are notified just not with an email or proper explanation I suppose. You’ll obviously get a few conversations from staff with all the information you need, invited to staff convos, told congratulations by us and the millions of messages you’ll receive for the next year is kinda a hint that you’ve been accepted so. We wouldn’t just throw new people into it without any help whatsoever lol

also no, the applications are ALWAYS looked at, daily in fact. It sorta just depends on the player, how long it’ll take for them to fit all the requirements or if they sent in one application and it was denied how long it’ll take for them to send another one and us see if they’ve improved any, etc it’s an endless amount of needs. That’s why it could take days, weeks, months and in rare cases years.

I disagree with the notifying they’ve been denied though, some people get really upset about things like this and staff applications are pretty different compared to builder - I mean it’s not necessarily a bad idea just one that I’m 50/50 on, I think it would annoy people cause some of them can send in a wonderful application but if they don’t meet the requirements or we see through the act they’re putting up, toxic behavior, etc you know - then they’ll probably complain about it forever. Especially tryhards that tend to think they deserve the rank whenever all they do is annoy us more than they think they’re ‘impressing’ us.

(I’ve seen some tryhard straight up leave the server / forums once cause they didn’t get accepted as staff, then they bashed the whole network / staff team.)

i guess so, but for example, if you had a job interview and they just give you the job, then you would have had no warning or no news about it, and this could be non efficient because you may have found a better job or you don't want it anymore. people also need to know if they didn't, because it is their right to know why or why not. even if you deal with toxic people, they still deserve to know, and you could punish them or mute, i'm not very sure. that's what i believe!

Yes indeed, although this isn’t necessarily something you can compare to a real life job, you aren’t even getting paid and it’s well.. a Minecraft server xD I think most people can assume if they haven’t gotten a rank (after a while) then they’ve either been denied or their application is pending, like being looked into / considered or just kinda there, not denied or accepted. It’s always something we can add in the future or if they believe it’s something to be necessary but it’s not really a flawed system otherwise. But I get where you’re coming from in general so!
