Although many threads give splatter tips, this one will provide you with profound insights on maps and gameplay. Remember, these tips may not work for everyone, but hopefully, it will let's get started.

Score:

When you get a good score, it generally means you have inked the most area out of the players on the map.

But there are many ways you can limit yourself from getting higher scores.

Ink percentage, Map technique meaning how you play the map, quickness/efficiency, and knowing the game info. So I will focus on these essential factors

Ink Management

Having proper ink management will make your scores naturally higher. But why exactly. Imagine this, when you see your ink slowly go down, you become hesitant and lose momentum and pace to keep inking. So it is vital to have a good ink supply.

A better way to store ink better is by surrounding yourself with ink. Let's say you use the bow. When you're done, you move on to the next area, but something you never knew is if you run in your ink, that will give you better storage.

This goes along perfectly when your team is up by a lot. You generally have more ink and points because ink surrounds your radius more than when its a draw, or it's a closer game.

Remembering to surround your area with ink, then moving on, you have a pathway to increase your ink percent.

With the shovel, it's the same thing, but a great way to save ink is to adjust your character. Rather than looking down, maybe move your character a little higher but not much higher. Your ink percentage will drastically go up when using the shovel. Or you can run diagonally it can help too.

Now many of us tend to ink way faster when we die and respawn. Don't because you'll end up with 40 percent ink, and you lose ink much quicker. With that said, rushing to ink is wrong, so focus on calming yourself down and taking your time. If you have low ink percent either run around, start walking or suicide either work.

Map Technique

One easy way to get better at a map is to find ample space, and those give you much XP. Next, find those little areas that give you big points even though it doesn't appear to do so.

For example, maps like the staircase in flounder heights, The little pathway in Mansion, and more. They help you give you a little push in for your score where you need the most. Or you can spectate the map itself. It does help. This helps note what you can and can't do. Some maps are enormous; if you get a high score like 2.6k on these maps, you are likely to play much better for the whole day. Here are some good maps Mansion, Airport, Metal Machines, Flounder Heights, Hammerhead Bridge, Birds, Colorful Town, Kelp Dome, Mario, and Arowana Mall. There is more, but they don't compare to these maps.

Quickness/Efficiency

The more you can ink around you, the faster and more efficient you can be. Try to reach as far and wide as you can and fill the area up with your bow. Also, use your shovel to move faster to wider areas or bow places. Jump bowing helps you get faster and more efficient. Shortcuts help you get quicker as well if you find them. Don't stay in an area too long, or you won't be efficient or don't cover an area for too long, or you won't be fast. Just cover area "sloppily like a kindergarten coloring style and your good. Bows are generally better to use than shovels, but make sure not to overuse bows. To shoot ink, father, pretend you are shooting an arrow farther. This makes it easier for the ink to travel more now; instead of pointing straight down will make the arrow not go more considerably the same as the ink.

Game Info

So here is something you want to know. Your score, the game score, and time. Always keep looking at these things, and you'll be informed of your status and the other team's status.

To increase the score, think about game info like this. 600 in a minute is 1800 overall. 1400 in 2 minutes is 2000 overall or 700 in a minute is 2100 overall or 1600 in two minutes is 2200 overall. You know what I mean. A way to increase your score is to increase these numbers, so you have a higher overall. So one day you have 700 in a minute then you practice and eventually get 800 then 900 and so on. Same with 2 minutes gone by. The third minute is a mystery. Also, knowing the game score can affect your splatting score. If it is close, you know you can splat a lot if it's the opposite, then you have a limited area to splat and so on.

Additional Tips

-Split Controls on

-When you want to get up from a vertical wall like splt d or Arowana mall use the bow it helps rather than a shovel

-Playing against a legend may help you get better at splatter

-Play around with your settings like sensitivity, fov, and many more.

-Low ink then you could commit suicide or use the bow till you have decent ink left worst-case scenario, teleport to someone.

-When you die, use the ghast tear.

-Don’t go near walls at all you know what will happen.

-The last tip have fun it is a game.

edit: I forgot this one but using player name tags can help locate ink if you can’t find any

Yes this is very helpful for beginners or just for people who want to get better overall. Also “ghost tear” ? I’d recommend having a higher sensitivity since you can use the bow at a much easier pace. Though it will take a while to get used to. :)

Another thing is to not spam ur blaster! This causes a waste of ink and you’ll not be able to get much space quick! Also, don’t focus too much on killing people (I kill people sometimes but mostly on accident) if u keep focusing on killing people, you’ll not be able to get enough space to win!
