So, this was a really sudden spur of the moment writing. It’s probably trash with that being said.
Don’t read too much into it

Sami had moved to a new community. She’s lived there for a couple years now, but her view was changing. She adored the place, although shy at first. As her confidence grew, so did she. She flourished inside this community, making friends, touching the hearts of people.
That’s what appealed to her the most within the community, the people. She loved helping out, which led to her making more and more friends. People often enjoyed her kind aura, although Sami would refuse that she was that kind. She still fit right in, and soon attracted attention with a blossoming relationship. Sami never felt like leaving, this community felt like home.
However, there’s always downs when there are ups. Sami’s relationship became rocky. The sweet guy she loved became abusive, and she knew she had to end it. Despite her thoughts, she didn’t get out of the toxic relationship. Slowly, she was being torn away from her friends. Her happiness was replaced with depression and hopelessness. In some twist in her favor, he was discovered to have cheated. This allowed Sami to escape that terrible relationship. Although she had escaped now, she still remained changed.
She remained kind to everyone, although she was more self aware. She tried her best to be that cheerful face from before, but she couldn’t keep it up for long. Slowly, the depression started to take over her. She kept to herself, avoiding people who often worried for her. She soon completely shut down, building a wall around herself.
One day, there was another who was not only curious about Sami, but also worried. Over several weeks, he managed to get to her. She slowly became herself again with the help from him, perhaps an even better version. Sami once again became the kind face around the community. She surrounded herself with her old friends, as well as new ones. She even began creating things for the community to enjoy. She was at peace once again.

Sami didn’t stay like that for long. She slowly became busier with work and schooling. She would often leave the community on short trips, sometimes staying away for weeks. Slowly, the community she once called her home didn’t quite feel like home anymore. Old friends had left, even ones she had welcomed into the lovely place. Slowly, insecurities started coming back.
Sami felt like a burden to the community, and started thinking of leaving herself.
During a trip, she looked back at the community she was leaving temporarily for the hundredth time. Sadness filled her heart as she started thinking once again about leaving. She sighed, saying “Maybe it’s time” to no one in particular. Still heavy with sadness, Sami walked away from the community, towards the sunset. The possibility of her returning, slim to none.
