Im really bad at it and need some strat ideas.
Someone tell me how to win this game-

It kinda depends on what you play on tbh, and how well you play- I think most of what you should depend on is your hotbar.
This is what mine looks like~
- 1st slot / axe or sword
- 2nd steak / any food (I use the buster kit which comes with 3 steak and chainmail armor)
- 3rd / extra food or more ideal golden apple
- 4th / blocks / cobble / dirt
- 5th pickaxe (I found that you cant open a chest with an axe and I usually don't wanna accidentally eat my food when opening a chest or place a block, plus its just good to have incase you need to break something or you have no other better weapons)
- 6th / more blocks / just in case you need to quickly switch and you run out of your other blocks
- Last 3 slots / more food (usually food you know will give you lots of health)
Though you can place anything in any order you'd like and however you're comfortable with it.
Your pvp skills also matter, when in combat with someone and you see you are low, possibly try to get away and eat quickly but don't let your guard down and quickly run back towards them, or if you want to continue to fight quickly after you've eaten, I suggest you try to quickly switch from your weapon to your food and back to your weapon, idk what device you play on so but on win10 you can quickly scroll through your hotbar with your mouse which is quite handy but I head some others prefer to tap the numbers on the top of their keyboard which is fine as well, whatever you are comfortable with.
It's best to try to continue to engage in combat with someone even if they are running away, which can be annoying but most likely eventually they will get tired and or corner themselves, and if your opponent is running away they are most definitely low so its best to try and corner them and chase them and kill them, other than to let them go and they come to kill you later on when you've just killed someone and are super low in health.
Going back to the hotbar discussion its best to keep your inventory nice and clean as well at times cause when you are trying to look for something in your inventory or something, someone could simply possibly come upon you and kill you, sorry this is so long, but that's all I can really think of at the moment.

loot your island chests, go to mid, loot mid, run when you see someone who has more op loot, fight players who have worse stuff than you, clean fights, remember your opponent's kits, and choose your opponents wisely

i just go in guns blazing even if im at a disadvantage xd
it took me a bit to be as good as i am in sw and im still outclassed by some pros and them loser try hards uk who u r dont hide it
