Chapter 22 - Our Last Connection

My eyes were wider than a boy getting a Christmas gift on Christmas day. My hand directly was touching the gift that was wrapped in snowman wrapper. "Oh no." I breathed under my breath. "What happens if this is all fake and Shive just told me that so he can scare me?" I didn't know what to do right now. Let my hand go and see what happens?
Or keep my hand on there and see if Shive comes in alive. Oh, so many ideas were coming into my mind that it was making me dizzy and Kenosha. My hand was getting restless beyond by me so that was also a problem I was dealing with right now.
But the clumsy person I was, my hand let go of the gift I was putting pressure on the whole time. My heart felt like it was going to feel apart from the deed I just broke right now.
Now at first, I thought nothing was going to happen from there and the day was going to be normal just like any other one until I heard a big drop coming from upstairs. I raced straight towards the stairs with my heart beating 100 miles per hours as I did so.
I pushed Shive room so hard that it knocked the door straight off the stable thingy that it keeps the door from falling without the nails on. In front of me were his bedroom and all the collectible stuff he has been keeping for years.
I thought I entered the wrong room when I felt the door not turning the full 180 degrees it was supposed to do. I closed the door in front of me and entered the room to see what was clogging the door. My eyes took 0.1 seconds to see Shive dead body right there. I had a million questions rushing towards my head right now.
Minutes past as I was sent into a fountain bench with a red coat while the police investigated Shive house. "Did you see what happen?" The police questioned me for the 6 times in less than an hour.
"No sir for the million times. I didn't see anything in his house." They gave me weird looks like I was supposed to know what happened inside his house since I was the only nearby one there. "Wait a minute, what time is the postal supposed to open?" I question myself with no answer.
Marco, however, came out of nowhere with a silver note in his hands. "I think you might want to read this." He spoke in a serious voice. I looked at him with some straight eyes, telling me that I wasn't in the mood in taking whatever note he had to give me; but it looked serious about what he had in his hands.
"What is it?" Responding like an old lady in the food area. "Um, well, one, you forgot the gift Shive gave you when he clearly told you not to touch it and two, this note I'm giving you was from May before she died."
Before I could've given my personal opinion or even yell at him, he left the two items on my lap and left, tipping his hat towards me. I sighed in pace as I opened up the folded silver paper note that Shive or should I say May gave me.
I opened it with sloppy handwriting on it. Now, I can understand a boy writing this but a girl? Really? C'mon. I read, "Hello Kiwi. This is a note from me after my death in the world I used to live. Btw, the portal opens around 8:00 P.m.
So if I'm correct, the time Shive is giving this note to you is at 7:55 P.m. So if I were you, I'll be going to the top of the hill and enter the portal to your real world. Love, May." I quickly turned to look at my half broken watch to see that it was 7:58 P.m on the tick.
"Oh my god!" I yelled in a whispered voice so nobody else could've heard me. "I got to go." But I guess I said that too loud cause someone in the shadow started to rush towards me faster than a car on full gasoline.
I started to run as fast as I could to the top of the grassy hill with my messed up sneakers I have been wearing for the past 7 days. But the shadow had some kind of speed hacks cause it started to rush towards me even faster than I could've run myself. "Leave me alone!" I shouted towards it. But it didn't change anything.
In fact, I think I made it madder cause it was coming towards me even faster than before. I rushed with my heart almost passed out to the top of the hill where my fingers were barely touching the hill. But before I could've climbed the hill, the shadow pulled me from behind, completely sliding me back to the bottom.
"W-who are you. And what do you want from me." The shadow or human took off their hoodie and t my surprise, it was Wither. "Wither? What are you doing here?" "Oh, I got stuck here too a few days ago and saw you here.
So I thought that you knew a way to get out of this place. And so, I started to chase you like I was a stranger. Sorry about that." "Oh, I see. Well, I was running because the por-" suddenly, a gust of wind started to blow near our hairs as something purple started to form on top of the hill. "Woah!" We both said at the same time; making some
"You owe me a," jokes. "Dude! What in the world is that?" "I don't know but whatever it is, it looks dope! But then I realized that it wasn't some kind of purple sky but the portal!
"Wither! We got to go!" I started to rush towards the top of the hill, holding her hand while hood. "Woah hey!" Wither hitting my hand so hard so I can let her go. "What do you think you're thinking of taking me into that strange looking thing?"
I looked back at her with my sassy face and said to her with facts, "That my friend IS OUR ONLY WAY HOME!" She stood silence there like she just winterizes the dumbest thing. "So if you don't want to come back home, well, by all me but I'm going home." I left her speechless while I headed for the portal that was on top of the hill.
But just as I got up the hill, the police officers also found out at the exact time I killed Shive. "Get her! She's getting away!" I think Wither also heard the police officers cause she regretted everything she just said and jumped, "I'm coming with you."
Deep inside my mind, I told myself, "She made the right choice." The portal took a few seconds to get us sucked in the dimension. "Hurry up stupid portal! They're coming closer!" The police officers were like 30 yards from us from where we were standing.
"C'mon!" We started to jump into the portal until it sucked us in, closing the portal in a demon way. "Woah!" The polices said.

Once we got back to our real home, we thought that everything was fine, that is until we went out May's house and headed outside. We both stood there as our eyes couldn't believe it. The town... was now a person cell. "W-w-WHAT! HOW?"
Wither started to cry. The hallways were silent as the light from the top of us started to flicker. "I started to wonder where we were until Wither showed me the most terrifying thing I could ever see in my entire life.
Megan, Gracie and Timeless heads were looked up onto a wood while a shiny, metal blade was at the other end of the wood.
"Please don't kill us!" Gracie cried in terror. But just when I thought it could've got worse, it did my friend. The Santa Claus came out of the Hazard room with scissors in his hands; ready to cut the rope off. "No c'mon please!" TImeless staked the comments along with Gracie.
The Santa Clause gave the biggest smile of all time and bam! Cutting the rope right there. One moment, I saw my friends alive, the next, dead.
Heads rolling from the metal room. "No no no!" That's going to be us soon Kiwi!" Wither panicked. "SHUT UP WITHER!" I whispered-yell to Wither. But I guess it was to loud cause the people from inside looked straight towards us with evil eyes.
"Oh no." We both said in terror.
