/Chapter 15/
October 15, 1920
So, that was it. The least we could do at this point is to make this dump into our new home until Saturday roles in so the Halloween killer blows this place up. That is if he would do so. I stayed up on the tall hill as I commanded the people including Jay to get to work on rebuilding and repainting everything in the ghost village.
The sky was whiskey dark like chemtrail conspiracy theory clouds above my head. By the looks of the clouds, they didn’t look too happy. Meaning that a storm was coming this way and we didn’t have a lot of time left to act up. It was October 15 if I’m not mistaking that is. Meaning that were were half way through October if you include the extra one day in October that is.
That being said, making it half and half days left before Halloween comes around. It was Monday of course and you know how strong I felt about Monday’s. When I was a senior in High School, I begged and trust me on this one. Legit got down on my knees and BEGGED my mom to make me stay home cause I hated High school that much.
It wasn’t because of the kids over there oh no, but the TEACHERS! They made us fill out 17 pages of homeroom work and if you thought that was bad, wait until the end of the class oh boy. They made us do 14 pages of homework, each one of those pages having at least 15 questions that you didn't even learn about. Well, that last part might’ve been my fault by sleeping during class but apart from that, it was a living nightmare.
On the right side of my eyes, I spotted Banana carrying a bucket full of Yellow. Now I didn’t care about which one is going to paint any house cause first, that will be their house for about 5 days to come and second, this town will get blown up (hopefully) by Saturday. Although, even though Banana was going to paint his house yellow, if you’re giving my opinion on it, yellow looks ugly on a house that is old.
“Hey Banana guy!” I shouted at him as he dropped everything from his hands. Apparently, that gave him a jump scare and the minute he dropped all his painting supplies, he got paint all over his smock. Lucky he was wearing a smock but that still gave me a bad feeling about scaring him. “What you do that for?” He shouted at me with an angry face.
I wish I had an excuse for what I did which by the way I do. But I don’t think Bananas will take my excuse that easy. I turned around to a surprised that Banana was up on the hill. I question myself really fast, “How did you get up on the hill that fasts?” I questioned inside myself. “What was so important that you had to tell me that made me drop everything?” He asked me.
I fiddle my fingers as I respond, “Sorry Bananas, I was just going to ask you a question but now that I think of it, maybe it will be better if I kept it.” I said to him, telling a straight up lie in front of him. I felt pain building up inside me as I told that white lie. “Well better now for nothing now that all my paint is gone!” I looked up to him with shame on my face.
“You better buy me a new fresh bucket of paint by tomorrow.” And from there, he left while carrying his empty paint bucket on one of his hands. I didn’t know what to feel at this point. I dumped a loving friend into the garbage can (Icy). I made another friend of mine drop all of his paint towards the ground and now I was commanding everyone to repaint everything all by themselves while I sat my lazy butt here, doing absolutely nothing.
I decided to not think about it that much since there was really no turning back and saying “Hey! Stop working.” Cause from my point of view, some of them are already, almost finished.
I stayed there for a few more minutes thinking about what will happen next to this ghost town. I can feel that since this living nightmare of a town is called “Ghost town.” Then some ghost is still here, haunting some of those houses in front of me.
But the problem was, which ones? I felt the spiky grass inside my pants as I got up from my spot and headed towards town.
On the way towards Senpai's brand new opening of his new bakery, I spotted some cute pumpkin faces near some rusted houses that were pretty decent looking.
That gave me an idea of what I could call my unnamed pumpkin! Smiley! It might sound dumb but nobody will question it. Up ahead I spotted yet, more pumpkin but with different facial expressions.
After a few runs around the block, I finally came across Senpai's new bakery! “Poof” He puffed as he finished hammering the last 3 nails onto the front wall of the shop. “It might be rusty at first, but I'm sure I can make this building the same as my old one!” He smiled as he turned towards me.
“Oh, Joe! Woah! Gave me a start there.” He said to me. “Nice bakery you got here!” I told him as I looked around the windows. So far inside it was a bunch of paint buckets and floor coverings around it.
“Thank you! This place might be haunted and rusted but I'm sure I can get this place gorgeous!” He winked at me as he went inside. I followed him inside and asking this question in my head.
How in the world do you make something that has been haunted for god knows how many years into something that is made out of gold? My brain was spun with questions that only had one answer towards it. “Wozza!” I said in spaz.
“So how are you going to turn into this dump into your new bakery?” I asked him as I started to get the smell of paint everywhere. Now if you ever took me to a place that was cover in wet paint, that will be a no for me. I never liked the smell of wet paint for any reason.
“I don’t know but somehow, this beautiful place will turn into my bakery!” He smiled. I looked around and ha, I wished him the best of luck on that one. I waved at him as I left his shop and towards Mos’s house to see what was up.
On the way towards his house, I stopped by a friendly person name Super. From the looks of it, It looks like he just came here right after the blown up situation so why not welcome him to this pit we’re currently living in. “Hey there!” I said to him as I squatted down to my knees. His eyes were brown, perfect enough for a nice boy.
“H..hey!” He said in a nervous voice. Now I can see why he was scared of me in his point of view cause first, I was like what 16? And he was only 8 so I could understand why he’s scared of me.
“Don’t worry! I won’t eat you.” I laugh at my own joke as he kept staring at me like ”What is she saying?” “My name is Joe! Welcome!” He stood there like a statue but he was brave enough to shake my hand. “If you need anything, I’ll be down by the Haunted house!” He shook his head as he headed off to help unpack the packages.
Now a haunted house? That could be our new Headquarters to live in! But the problem is the ghost. I just know the minute we enter the house, we will get welcomed by a ghost. So I’ll keep that hope up and tell her on Wednesday to keep it safe.
I went up towards Mos’s house to see what was up. It was 10 PM night time so if you were in my shoes, this wouldn’t be the best place to be in right now when you have a Halloween killer out there. I stopped by Mos’s house, somehow finding out where he had moved in and knocked on his spooky door.
Around his new house, he decorated with Pumpkins in the left and right of the door. He put some spider webs up above his door to make the door pop up more. This I gotta say was one of the best-decorated doors I’ve seen by far around this ghost town so far.
Mos opened the door, wearing a franking Stine mask on his head. “Holy Mos! You scared me!” I said to him, laughing a little. “Sorry if I scared you, Joe. I was trying on some Halloween mask to go out trick or treating on Halloween.” He said as he took the mask of his sweating face.
I could tell that he has put more than 100 masks in under an hour. Just then, I heard a loud bang hit the floor. Mos and I raced outside to see where the loud bang came from. Just then, Mos was pulling on my shirt, telling me that he spotted smoke up ahead. Sadly from telling by the smoke that was coming from the distance, I already expected what it was. Another dead person.
We raced towards it and as my heart expected, someone died or was blown up. It was Banana. I can’t believe him. After fighting in the afternoon about paint, He was dead. I didn’t even have the time to tell him I was sorry. Just goes to show how cruel this world can be. Mos sighed as he saw Banana laying there on the ground.
Just then, I spotted a covered up dusted note on the ground. Probably because of the smoke. I read to Mos, “Guess you guys heard the loud bang that just happened hu? Well, your little friend was blown up with you guessed it, DYNAMITE! Just watch out for the next person that will have it haha. -The Halloween Killer.” I crumpled up the paper as I said out loud,
IM. NOT. AFRAID. OF. YOU!
