Chapter 9 - Light
December 9, 2018
-Season 2-
I stared at the endless land of ground we would have to be walking from now until we find a new home to stay in. Hello, I don't think we have met yet but let me introduce you to myself a little bit. I'm Megan.
A 17-year-old person that loves to learn new things along my way in life. I also love meeting new people around the village and love to get to know each other in different ways possible. Okay, now that I have introduced a little bit about me, I can get back to the whole "taking forever," part of this walking journey that's coming up.
The trip so far wasn't looking so pretty as it seemed for most of us in the village. Tears from woman to men were everyone; looking at their homes being burned up in flames and buried towards the ground.
The crying around me was making me so sentimental that even I started to build tears when I took a look at my house. The Playhouse in the backyard that my dad built since I was 8, gone. The flowers I painted 4 years ago for my mother's memories, gone. Legit every single thing that I loved about my house, gone.
The amount of pain going through me hurt so much that it got to a point that even my whole stomach started to develop inner pain from the inside. I couldn't let the pain that was affecting me right now take me down when I had a job to do right now and that job was to find a new village for the town folks. "Hey, guys!" I shouted to the crew that was still staring at the village from a view. "Not now Megan. We need some alone time to look at our village before we go from here."
Even if I wasn't that affected about my village being burned down to the ground, I have to give respect to the people that do care about their homes. Cause who knows if that one single house meant their whole lives to them. "I understand," I told the crowd; stepping away slowly from them. I didn't know how long this would take for them to stop looking at the village but one thing for sure was, they were taking their sweet time in doing so. "Well, as they say, you can't rush time."
...bloop! I went towards the ground, hoping that a random bird will take me into the sky and drop me far away from the people that I knew to start a new life but I knew that I couldn't exactly do so since there were people that I actually needed in my daily life.
Oh hey, by the way, my name is Jely if I haven't introduced myself yet. I guess you could say that I love to watch anime when I have some free time in my hands which in that case is really rear to happen since I always have something to do.
Now, back to the village. The village didn't exactly affect me that much since I was always begging my mom if we could move house for about 2 years straight. Well, now we can look back at our history and say that I had all the reasons to move from this place to no.
My parents forced me to stay here and told me that I had to finish Middle School before we could move houses. I guess now instead of her laughing about the whole moving thing, I was the one that was laughing about it now.
Well, there's no turning back now but to move on from this place. But it seemed like the crew wasn't going to get far tonight cause everyone thought it would be a great idea to look back at their houses and remember all the memories they had right there.
I thought that that was the dumbest idea I have ever heard in my life but then again when I grow up hearing that statement, I would get it the statement by the time I'm in my 20's. But for now, I would never understand an adult joke until I grow up to be one.
"Hey, Jely!" Megan came towards me with an upside down smiley face on her. "What's wrong Megan?" I could see that she tried her best not to be sad about this but she wasn't buying that mood. "Is it because of our village?" She shook her head like she knew that that was going to be the first thing I say to her.
"No. It's just the memories I miss with my mom in that house. It was one of the best places I used to hang out; especially in the backyard." I stood up from the mothy rock I was sitting on and got closer towards Megan. "It would be all right Megan, don't worry." I snuggled up agents her as she did the same to me.
"Testing testing, is this thing on?" I tried using the grass as a microphone to talk to the people around me but it didn't seem to work. In fact, I think the only thing it made me look like was an idiot that was using grass as a microphone.
I decided that doing this won't make a difference since everyone was down about their house. I personally would be the same... if I had a family that is. I'm May. A 14-year-old girl with natural hair that got abanded at the age of 2.
I guessed that my parents thought that I was crying too much when I was little and decided that enough was enough and me ending up at an orphanage where a lot of people were when I was taken in.
As I grew older, I have never had the experience to go outside like the rest of the kids on a sunny afternoon; playing ball outside. Instead, I was locked up in an orphanage with a tall lady that told us to do all her commands while she got her feet nails done every single day.
I got used to the dark halls that I walked every single day until one day, I heard in the news that a bomb was going to explode in 3 hours from now.
So I thought of this as a great way to escape the place while I still could. I called up a meeting with my friend Joe and told her about the plan that we were going to escape from this place. She thought that was suicide and we could get in massive trouble but I knew she was going to say that. So in that case, I was already prepared for that.
I told her that we were going to escape at the 10-minute mark. So when the lady notices that we escaped the mansion, it would be too late for her to come out of the mansion to come and find us.
Cause at the time she would come out and find us, the bomb would've exploded at the exact same time. So fast forwarding all that escaping thing, we somehow managed to escape the mansion, leaving all the other kids inside and the mean, old lady with the bomb. The minute we left and went up the hill, I felt a pain inside my chest, feeling bad for the rest of the kids that were inside the house.
"...Hey." I said in a quiet voice. I was those types of people that had strong opinions about everything but yet, I didn't speak much as I do in my mind cause I know that I was going to mess up in saying my opinion and end up getting sued for getting bullied for it.
So I rather keep all those opinions towards me even if one of those ideas will make me famous one day. They could say that they will give me credit but instead, they would take the idea and tell the government that they had the idea first and nobody else when really, I had the idea first. Fast forwarding, they will end up being famous for it cause that's cruel this world is.
Anyway, enough of talking about my personal life, back to the whole village and fire part. I think May pretty much covered the whole taken in an orphanage part but the thing is, I didn't get a chance to explain how I got in the orphanage so if you excuse me, let me talk about my side of the story.
Ahem, when I was 5, I had the most loving parents a child could ever have. Unfortunately, on November 4, 2017, my parents were gunshot at point and ended up losing both of my parents that day.
They somehow managed to miss me when they were looking for me. Unfortunately for me, I was too young to stay alone in the house so I had to be taken into an orphanage and stay there until I was 18. It was a 1-hour drive from my house to the orphanage. So if I was thinking of escaping to my old home, well good luck on that cause if the ride was 1 hour long, the walk must be about 3 hours long.
Anyway ya, that was basically my whole life from there, I stayed there, having to listen to an old, mean lady for the rest of my 5 years.
But one day, Joe called in a meeting, saying that we were going to escape this orphanage since a dude dressed as Santa Claus placed a bomb on the Liberty Hall and was set to explode in 3 hours. I thought that that was the craziest idea she can ever come up with but she told me if I rather stay here and die or escape with the rest of the people that were doing so.
So, I had no choice but to go with her. Fortunately, in the end, we escaped in a rough but successful way I got ever imagine. And that would be a day I would never forget in my life.
