Chapter 5- The Black Light
December 5, 2018
It only took me a few days to recover for the dramatic situation I was in but I'm kinda okay for now? Sure that I can't forget the death of my best friend dream but I will always have some great memories with her no matter what.
The morning was still early. The sun hasn't come up from its place since it was only 5 in the morning. Now, I was never a morning person since I was always the first person awake in my family but it works out I guess...not really. I realized that laying on the bed won't do anything to make me happy since I was staring at a black wall from the sealing.
I thought it would be a good idea if I head outside and take a nice walk while my family still slept warm in their beds.
I quietly opened the door to my room, grabbed and put on my leather jacket I had hanging from the closes, headed for the front door and closed it as gently as I could so I don't get caught sneaking outside again. The sky was blue, meaning that the sun from afar distance was getting up from the darkness it was.
I glanced at my watch, reading 5:30 A.m with the date right next to it also reading, December 5, 2018, in bolded letters. I realized that I left my iPhone charging back at home when I didn't feel something in my pants. Great.
Now if I ever get gunshot at point or robed, I can't do anything cause I don't have my phone on me. What a great way to start off a Wednesday morning. Every single street I passed by, there was at least one light from above me flickering over and over again and it really got in my nerves but as always, I couldn't do anything about it but to go past it and let it be.
The stone path was probably the only thing I liked about the walk beside the decorations people were putting on near their houses for Christmas.
I gotta say, some of the houses were so creative that I had to take a picture of them to share them of Instagram; I'm nice enough to give them created for whose house it was. Cause my house will never come close to being this beautiful nor it never will be.
I gotta say, the night at the lights going on at the exact same time gave it a vibe of its own, making it 2 times better than it would be out in the daytime of course. I mean, let's be real here, no lights in the daytime could look as cool as they would be in the nighttime.
And if you're thinking of changing of mind with another opinion, well, I wish you the best of luck with that cause there is no way I'm changing my mind with that unless you do some expert research and know how to explain it to me; then I would maybe change my mind but for now, I'm good thank you.
My peach skin started to get some frostbites once the wind started to pick up some more which meant some bad news to me. I was probably like a few miles from my home, meaning that by the time I get back home, I would probably be frozen to death from the chills passing thought me along the way.
My mind thought of some quick ideas before I turned into an ice-cube in the middle of the sidewalk. The first idea was going to the nearest Starbucks and stay there until I was warmed up. But then the workers there would suspect me that I was only there for the warm and not actually buy a coffee from them.
My second idea was to go to a stranger house and tell them that I need to call a taxi to get back to my house since I didn't have a phone on me. But that will also cause some dramatic interruption if they were still sleeping in their bed and had to get up just for me.
So that idea was thrown to the trash can. I didn't have a lot of options left but to walk home and probably get some kind of sickness that would make my stomach in real pain.
My mom is always telling me that I was always getting some kind of stomach pain whenever I head outside during the summer or winter.
I don't actually believe what my mom says but the way she said it that way that day really got me thinking about my health more than a doctor telling me in eye to eye. I took a view into the sky; the sun beaming from the clouds and into the light blue sky for the rest of the day.
At that point, I was about to give up until I remembered something going through my head as I passed a couple of houses down by the block I was in. I remembered that by the time it hit 6 o'clock, the Marco's or Smoosh's family woke u at the time to get to work; meaning that their children would've woken up and gone to get breakfast. I
thought that would've been the best thing I could ever come up with but there was only one problem to that, I had to wait like 40 minutes to do so. The beats and the ticks on my clock made me want to jump off a building, in hopes of the ticks to go faster.
It was a wired idea that came into my head for some odd reason but somehow, someway, it would work out but at the same time, not.
At that point, I was losing hope in getting my body to Marco's house but by the time I would get there, there would only be 30 minutes left until I could enter their house. So, I would just have to think of something to do until they wake up for the day. Besides, it was only the 5' of December so that shouldn't be a problem at all.
7:05 A.m
I was honestly getting bored to death. I had done everything there was to do in our village and ya, basically, everything around here was boring besides the fair coming every may. But we were in December, not May.
So that kinda eliminated the fun in that. I took a look at my clock, marking 7 o 5 on the clock. I was honestly glad that this time has finally come around cause if you couldn't tell by now, I was pretty ready to go home and call it a day even though it was only morning.
This time, I rang the doorbell and not the door for some odd reason. I gave a few minutes to give Marco some time to come downstairs. It was only after 2 minutes I rang the doorbell until I heard his soft voice coming down the stairs, yelling, "Coming!" Like a prince rushing down to meet her princes from the castle.
"Oh hey, Kiwi!" He spoke to me. He was still in his PJ's which wasn't a surprise really to me since it was morning "What are you doing here so early?" "Oh um, I was bored laying down on my bed, staring at my ceiling. So I decided to come by your house and stay for breakfast." Me trying really hard to take away the other details.
He seemed pretty chill about it and told me that I could come in. I looked around and explore the place to see how they fixed their house up in just a few days. "Wow! You guys really fixed your house up in just a few days!" I entered the room with Marco's mom cookie some eggs on the stove. "Morning Ms. Marco!" I waved at her. "Oh! Why hello Kiwi! Glad you can stay with us for dinner!" I smiled at her while getting back to Marco.
"So Marco." I still wanted to find out how they got their house in perfect shape in just under 48 hours. "How did you guys managed to fix up your house in just a few hours?" He sipped some coffee from his mug and told me, "House insurance."
Now, I wasn't going to get into their personal business cause I'm not those kinds of people that would do so. So I just went with the classic "ok," message and went along with it.
"So, what did you do while I was gone for the day?" I can see that he was trying really hard to find out if I was changing with some other better friends while he was working on his repair house. "Oh well, nothing much. I just sat on my desk and read some manags and watched anime while I was on break." He took a mug from the kitchen and served some coffee for me. "Thank you," I told him.
"Welcome. Well, I'm going to get my sister from upstairs and tell her that breakfast is ready." I gave him the nod as he rushed upstairs to get her. I sipped my coffee as I was laying on the living room couch until I heard a big yell coming from upstairs. "MARCO!" I
shouted so loud so everyone could hear. I rushed upstairs as fast as a cheetah following by her parents behind me. We slammed the door open only to see Smoosh's bloody body all over the floor. "Oh no," I told them. "This is the work of the Santa Claus." I kept talking. "Wait, who?" Marco' mom told me while cracking up with tears.
