Chapter 1- Totally "Schooled It"
"Wake up, lazy butt," My sister said as she busted through my bedroom. "Do I really need to go?" I said with a fuss. "It's the last day of school, can't I stay here and play on my Xbox please?" I said as I got up. My sister always wakes me up due to the fact mom put here in charge while she's working.
"Mom won't be happy if you stayed home on the last day of school," she said. Let's just say my sister was the queen of snitching on me when it came to this kind of stuff.
"Besides, today is award of the year and you probably didn't win anything but who cares!" She says with a smile. I was already mad enough to the fact that I'd to go to school but now my very own sister is making fun of me? This gets my blood pressure very high but I stayed calm since it was the last day of school.
Oh ya, I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Ripcord but most people call me Sami but you can call me whatever you want. And yea, you've already met my sister, her name is CrystalCruz but most people at my school call her Crystal. She's one of the most popular girls in my school and well... me? I guess I can be recognized by a few people but anyways ya. "Brother! Get down here! Get your cereal!" I wined not because I hated the cereal but the person that made it. She always puts some kind of fruit inside of it and it tastes disgusting but Mom said to her to do so. So who's the one to blame? Anyways idk and IDC.
This year wasn't really the best for I guess anyone but it's sad to see everyone leave middle school and off to high school. I grabbed my light blue backpack and headed to the bus. "Aren't you coming Crystal?" I said as I looked back at her. "Nah, The school bus is for nerds like you, I'm going with my friends in her shiny car, bye bye bother." She waved as she left. I rolled my eyes so hard, I felt like they were going to fall off. I saw one of my best friends that I met since kindergarten laying on the grass and staring into space or the Galaxy whatever ok?
"Eyyy, buddy Jay!" I said with a grain. "Sami! What's up!" Jay smiled! "I guess nothing much but a kinda goodbye?" I sigh. "Wdym Sami?" "Dude! We can still talk on Discord!" Jay said as he jumped. I smack my head. "Omg! How can I forget?" I laughed so hard, I nearly died for not breathing. "You ok Sami?" Jay said as he was about to burst with laughter. "Yes, yes. I'm fine." I said.
Jay spots the bus coming early. "Hmm, the bus is early today," Jay said as he tied his shoe. "Ya'know the bus drivers, they're always random. Sami said. "You've got a point there." Jay, Sami, and Crystal were the only ones at the bus stop but since Crystal 80% of times goes with her friends, they had a free win on the bus. "Welp Sami, This is the last time we get a free spot on the bus," Jay said with disappointment. Sami pats Jay. "Look, Jay, Highschool is one of the most troublesome years but we'll go over this together. Jay felt better after Sami said that. Jay stayed Silent from then and Sami glanced out the window and thought to himself.
The ride wasn't that long after they got to school. The minute we got off the bus, Crystal friend car pulls up. "Is that Crystal?" I roll my eyes as I said yes to him. Everyone stopped and looked at her. "Yes, it's me Crystal and ya all probably know I'll win the best fashion of the year award." She waves and ignores everyone as she walks into the school followed by almost everyone. Jay asked, "Why is Crystal so popular?" I respond "She always she straight A+ in every one of her classrooms. "Well, that explains it kinda ish." I grab myself a set and for Jay and sat down on the table for the last time and instead of going on our phones, we talked.
"Today, we're going to stay outside the whole time and at the end in 1 hour before school officially ends, they hand out the awards," Jay says as he eats a donut. "I don't like the sound of this at all," I say as I push in my chair. We establish our stuff in the locker and headed out for a 7-hour outdoor hell. "It's so hot!" Jay says as he lays down. "I don't even know why the school does this if we're just gonna get burnt to death. Just then, Jay spots one of his friends. "I see Xemphyr, I'm going to talk to him, catch ya later," Jay says as she runs off.
I lay on the grass as I see a frisbee go by. I stare to the sky and think to myself. "What am I?" "What does the world want me to do? I'd so much question and a few answers in my mind. Time flew by and before I knew my very nose, it was 2:00 P.m. The school announced everyone to go inside and into the Gym and to take a set. I saw Lauren, One of the best writers in my school and possibly will win the "Best writer of the year award" blah blah blah. "Hey Sami!" She said. "Hey Lauren" I said as I took a set next to her. "You excited for this?" "Cause I've been waiting for years for this moment to come by!" She said with excitement. "I guess ya but I don't think I'll be up there." I said
"Awwww, why not Sami?" "You must have been good at something right?" She said as she waved to her friend Ang. "I don't really think so Lauren." "I haven't really been doing anything for the school in general," I said with sadness. "C'mon Sami, Cheer up! It's last day of school anyways. Let's enjoy this beautiful moment before it last." She said. "I guess we should."
"Lady's and gentlemen!" I present you... The Awards of the year 2018!" Everyone claps except for Sami. "This year might've not been the best for the school in general but some of our students Really improve over this year so I'll want to welcome you those students!" *More claps*. Now let's get started!
"So Lauren, do you think you'll win something?" I whispered. "I've got a shot at winning in writing, maybe." I've 100% Confederate that Lauren will win that award.
The awards lasted for 1 hour and let me tell you, My body was sweating that a puddle was forming under me. All I wanted is to get out of there as fast as possible!
I'd the chance to take down the winners that won and let me tell ya something, Lauren did win the writing of the years. Here is the list:

And other that really weren't really important to me. This year wasn't the best for me but I really got to met a lot of new people before this summer was over. I saw the stage the winners parents and how happy they are compared to me. I wished that I'd win something and be that proud. I also saw Jay parents and him with his Computer Genius award in his hand. I wanted to be proud of him but it was really hard to be that happy. I saw my sister crying in the corner for not winning anything but eh, that's her fault. The bus came and I sat next to Jay just for the laughs and stuff.
"It's ok Sami," Jay says as he eats his chocolate candy from his Chocolate box. "There's is always next year." I wanted to tell but I kept it inside of me. "Ya, but I've 4 years of that to actually win a damn award." Jay eyes wind. "Wow Sami, I never knew you used that word." Sami closed his eyes for a second and wanted to think that he didn't exist. "I'm sorry, but I'm just so frustrated that I didn't win anything even though I tried my absolute best these 8 months. Jay smiled vanished faster than a waterfall. Jay froze for a full minute and thought to himself. "Listen, Sami, This was the last day of the school year until we go into the big chunk which is Highschool. This was the last year of your whole life that things were easy.
I'm sorry but that's life, Sami. Things are just going to get harder from this point and we'll have to deal with it." Sami did hear everything but he didn't feel like talking. Jay waited for Sami response but he didn't say anything so Jay sat there with a sad-ish' face and said until they got off.
It wasn't long until the bus drops them and Sami plus Jay got off. Sami didn't say anything along the way but Jay wanted Sami to feel better. "So Sami, How did you think this year was?" But all Sami did was kick rocks on his way home. Jay was running out of ideas but just then, He thought of an idea. "Hey Sami, Let me show you something." Jay grabs his iPhone and shows him a picture of his Fanart he did when he was in 5 grade. Sami froze. "H-how? How do you still have the Fanart I did on Pac-Man since 5 grade?" Sami said surprised.
"Sami. I'm one of your best of friends and these kinds of friends take everything from other person and show them those hard efforts to them when they're down." Sami thought and responded, "So this means you're a stalker?" Sami said with a different voice. "Look, Sami, I'm trying my best to make you the happiest person right now and I understand, you didn't win an award and if I didn't win an award, I would be upset. I'll be going to California for vacation so this might be the last time I'll see you until we go to high school.
"Well Jay, Have while I'm stuff here in Oklahoma with people I'm barely friends with," Sami says as he kicks another rock to the street. "Well Jay, it's your game now, you'll have to do something about it."
Sami stopped and shook Jay's hand. "Goodbye, Jay!" Sami says as he walks away. Jay walks away but turns back to Sami, " "Bye... Friend."
The friendship will last throughout the Summer.
