So... you don't know how to solve a Rubik's cube.

You don't even know how to spell it correctly.

Well, that will change soon. Now, I will teach you how to solve a Rubik's Cube!

@Lvnar is gonna help with these tutorials hopefully

MISCONCEPTIONS

Many people think you have to be smart to solve a Rubik's Cube. This is not true, as it only requires simple memorization and time to learn to solve a cube. You will run into things called "Algorithms" (Alg for short) which may look like this:

R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' (13 moves)
F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F' (18 moves)
r U' r2' D' r U' r' D r2 U r' (11 moves)

Yeah yeah yeah, that looks like a lot, and sometimes, you'll have to learn a set of 70-100 or so algs to be fast (sucks to suck CFOP solvers) but for now, the alg with the most amount of moves you will learn has 7 moves, and I'll try and break it down for you so it's easy to understand.

You do NOT solve a cube side by side. This is extremely hard to do, as people focus on one center colo(u)r and not the rest. Instead, I'll be teaching the most basic (but not the most time or move efficient) method, layer by layer (LBL for short).

Hardware

Don't you dare say that you can just get a dollar store cube because those suck. And don't you dare go to Walmart and buy a 14 dollar Rubik's brand. These are a waste, as these cubes are no good at getting times under 30 seconds (I average like 40 on a Rubik's brand and 15-17 on a speedcube). Instead, for 4-6 dollars, you can get some budget speed cubes over at one of these 4 websites:

Speedcubeshop: speedcubeshop.com (located in California, USA)

The Cubicle US thecubicle.us (located in New York, USA)

Pi Cube Shop picubeshop.com (located in China (I forgot what province))

Dailypuzzles dailypuzzles.com.au (located in Australia)

Here are some of the cubes you really can't go wrong with (Speed cube shop):

[TOP PICK] YuXin Little Magic: https://speedcubeshop.com/collectio...-little-magic-3x3?_pos=7&_sid=209b96633&_ss=r

MoFang Jiaoshi MeiLong 3x3: https://speedcubeshop.com/products/mofang-jiaoshi-meilong-3x3?_pos=3&_sid=b7527caf0&_ss=r

MF3RS: https://speedcubeshop.com/products/mofang-jiaoshi-mf3rs-3x3?_pos=6&_sid=909dd5a4c&_ss=r

From Lvnar:

Qiyi Warrior W: https://speedcubeshop.com/collectio...iyi-warrior-w-3x3?_pos=2&_sid=5124a8aa4&_ss=r

Qiyi Thunderclap v3 (Sold out, but prepay and save 10%): https://speedcubeshop.com/products/qiyi-thunderclap-v3-3x3?_pos=4&_sid=dec9da830&_ss=r

You can get any of these stickered or stickerless. It's recommended that beginners buy these cubes instead of the 15-60 dollar cubes because beginners won't need the super good speedcubes. All of the cubes above however are still great for speedcubing, especially the YuXin Little Magic! YuXin pls stop being so cheap and good we all love you
