On a Japan Ship, a girl saw a dead body on the floor, the detective found 5 people in the ship. Only one of them murderered him.

The little girl said : " I was playing on my mom's room "
Jenna said : " I was sleeping. "
Nick said : " I was reading books outside, but I didn't notice someone was murdered. "
Chief said : " I was cooking. "
Oliver said : " I was viewing the ocean "
John said : " I was going to get Korea flag for the ship. "

The detective found out who's the liar, who was it?

John is a liar, he was going to get the Korea flag for the ship, but why the ship is a Japanese ship?

John, it's pretty obvious.
Why?
The riddle said On a JAPAN SHIP but, John's reason is "He was going to get Korea flag for the ship" meaning his the murderer.

here are my possible answers

a.) Nick, if he was outside then he should have noticed her screams for help

b.) The little girl. The dead body found on the ship could be her mother, but she (the little girl) killed her. (she must be insane to kill her mother though)

I believe the flag has no connection to the murder if im not mistaken.
