Maybe the time was midnight so the dog sleepy? And then he used the key to escape idk there must be something to do with the table

After he made the dog sleep did he opened the door with the key and then opened the window and throws that key back to the table? xDD

It was midnight so the dog sleepy and fell asleep. The table was right in front of the window so when he used the key to escape, he locked it again and put it back on the table through the window?

Because the window were "shut" not locked
