This might be on purpose because it could be the builder wanting to portray moss or the little green grass/plants you see from sidewalks. (Or at least I see them from my sidewalks)

It's supposed to be like that, it was kind of hard to build the actual design into Minecraft
But I'll block the hole with some barriers soon ( not sure if I did that already ) thank you velx
