So I know that a ton of peeps love spicy foods like takis or hot Cheetos but those are like very low alcohol but here are my main reasons why I add things like green/red salsa on my plate as well as peppers in my pizza or soup.
#1 flavor: everyone loves flavor in their foods and salsa verde is no exception. These holy nectars give your food one hell of a meal which is why I would add green salsa on my tacos, burritos, and even Gorditas. So yeah if your looking for something flavorful and don’t like onions, go for some authentic/homemade hot sauces like salsa verde/roja.
#2 after effects: I might get a bit nerdy here but what makes spicy foods spicy is a chemical called capsaicin which is a chemical that was made to prevent pests from eating these “unsweetened fruits” (yes peppers are a fruit). It is also to prevent humans from eating them which is why you feel that burning sensation. So once the chemical is ingested it triggers pain receptors in your tongue and as well as your digestive system making the brain think it’s on fire, so they release hormones called dopamine which makes you feel good.
