So I was inspired by the song Moving On by BTS and decided to write this xd
It’s probably not very good :notworthy: but I’ll still post it xD

Memories

It was a cool autumn morning when I got a text from a friend. It wasn’t just any text, within it she told me about a new place she had gotten. She needed a roommate, and she thought I’d like to live with her. I texted her back saying I was honored to live with her. She texted back saying I should start packing right away, so I took her advice and turned my phone off and set to work. I put my necessities into a box by themselves, my clothes in another two boxes, and anything else I thought I might want to take along with in another.

With half the day gone, all my packing was pretty much done. I looked over my room to make sure I hadn’t missed anything, even bothering to look under my bed and behind my bookshelf. When I looked behind my bookshelf I found a book I don’t remember ever seeing. I managed to reach the book with little effort, and I sat on the floor with it. I stared at the cover trying to remember what book it was, where I had gotten it from.

When I still couldn’t figure it out, I opened the book. Seeing the first page, I immediately felt stupid for not realizing it was my photo album. A feeling of happiness blossomed inside my chest as I looked at the photos holding cherished memories. Most were of me and friends at carnivals or on vacations. I still happened to be in touch with all of them. When I got to the last page of the album, I saw a picture that I haven’t seen before. “I don’t remember taking this...” I mumbled to myself as I slid the photo out.

When looking closer at the photo, I realized it was only me and one other person. The person looked familiar, but I just couldn’t put my tongue on it. I flipped the photo over hoping to find some writing, and to my luck there was. It wasn’t my handwriting though, so I assume it was the other persons. I read the message scrawled on the back, ‘To someone special to me. If we ever lose touch, may this remind you of the friendship we had. -Sami’

As soon as I read that name I remembered everything. Sami. He was my best friend several years ago, but despite this we did end up losing touch. A sudden wave of sadness washed over me, does he even remember me now? I got the sudden urge to find out. I rummaged through one of the moving boxes, looking for my phone book. No one ever uses them, so I wonder why I kept hold of one.

When I finally found the phone book I searched for his name. When I found it, I was so glad to have kept the old thing. I grabbed my phone and began typing in his number. Before I pressed call, I froze. What if he didn’t remember? I began to get nervous, but I pushed it down. If we were such great friends a few years ago, he should remember. I took a deep breath and hit call. It rang several times before he picked up. A soft hello filled my ear for a second, a voice I remembered instantly.

I began to get emotional, but I wouldn’t cry over this for him to hear. I took another breath to try and hold back the tears that threatened to spill, and very softly I answered him.

“Hello Sami, I’ve missed you...”
