Unfortunately, before 1st World War, when Bolsheviki began to rule in Russia they decided to seize Ukraine. Ukraine has become independent country only in 1991 year. In those years Ukraine was a part of USSR (Soviet Union). In Soviet Union Ukrainian language wasn't allowed so now lots of Ukrainians speak russian, as me. Also when Ukraine was a part of USSR we got a Crimea and part of Donbas and Ukraine gave Russia territory of Kuban, that's the reason of war, because Russia is trying to get back "their territory". Crimea is a homeland of Crimean tatars, that had been moved to Uzbekistan by Russia as i know. The story is very sad and it's not gonna end yet, unfortunately.
