Can there be a rule against spreading false rules? A lot of people like to tell other people certain things are bannable when they aren't which causes people to report people for things that aren't worth reporting and it wastes everyone's time and can confuse new players and even players that have been playing for a while.

Example: recently a lot of people have been telling me and everyone on the server that lava camping is against rules— which it isn't at this current moment in time— and it got to the point where so many people were telling me it was against the rules that I believed them and actually reported someone for lava camping. Report was declined.

Even players that are close to staff spread fake rules and stuff so it makes it believable that the rules are real and people even go as far as sighting staff members as sources like saying "(insert staff members name) told me that lava camping is against rules now"

I think this should give a player a mute for a day or something so they learn their lesson.

When in doubt, check the forums ;)

If there isn't already (I'm inclined to think there is, although I don't really know), this rule should definitely be added.

This rule should not be implemented, people could get banned for something someone else told them or they could make a mistake and think its a rule, when in fact it is not.
If this is implemented if it is not already I believe will mute people for simply trusting another player, I believe the correct course of action is to kindly tell the person that that is not a rule, and state a couple of simple rules to them so they get the base of the rules, this rule’s implementation may cause unnecessary trouble for players who didn’t know better.

At least over time the entire server will know the right rules. It's a 1 day mute, not an actual tempban.

This rule may be a little messy in the beginning but it will even out as time goes on.

Its still unnecessary, just simply reminding someone its not a rule should be enough, why punish someone for trusting someone else?

I've gotten into arguements with people over correcting them and they even "quote" there staff friends for things that they didn't even say.

It should be against rule to quote staff members on things they haven't said at the least.

Actually a lot of people trick people so that they get advantages so they say that lava camping is bannable to scare other VIP's even though it is not

Hand them a warning, a slap on the wrist, a mute is too extreme, if this one person does it constantly then yeah, mute, but otherwise this rule is actually kind of stupid, and if this was implemented multiple staff would be muted because i have staff sayying ‘I think that is/isn’t against the rules’ and sometimes they’re right and sometimes they’re wrong, my point is most of these cases are honest mistakes and nothing more, so really, this isn’t needed, its just extra hassle for staff when they could just go ‘Sorry _____ is not against the rules’

Again, there are chances for mistakes, thinking someone is staff, your brain switching up names, there are too many if’s for this to be plausible.

Of course, but I can always give people my opinion when you tagged me in any thread. :)
@SpikeTheCook can you give your opinion on this thread? I trust your judgment.
Hmm, no. Personally, I don't think a "Fake messages" rule is needed to be added. Sometimes people can get angry if they want to. Most microbattles players will say that the rules are not against the rules by without proof, but in fact they are used to knowing that some people had talked about old lava camping was against the rules in the past that they just made a mistake of it won't againts the rules anymore for now. First, ask them to go to the forums and see the Hazard's thread in the "Player Reports" section.

The funny thing is weren't you one of the people who were telling others it was against rules? Or am I mistaken??

Idk. I would rather have a clean server than a confused one. My opinion.
