Is it the 10th? Yeah I think it is... right?

Here's the question anyway:
Can someone teach me how to not discontinue a story? Seriously, I'm thinking of stopping YLYL because I have literally no idea what to do for it. I take people's ideas into consideration, but I don't know how to craft it to fit into the story. However, I do have a short story to pay for it, if you wanna read something by me that badly, which I highly doubt but eh ._.

Also I wrote a bit for YLYL which hasn't been published yet if you wanna read it... it probably is only about 200-300 words though.
 
When you are out of idea there is not really ways to get back inspiration, just walk or do something who help you think or minutes and if you dont get Any Idea it means you need to restart to 0 because your Idea is finish, thats how real writters do their series.(exept Walking Dead who they jist repeat over and over) So yeah. You make an End to your story and start a new one with A new idea! :)

This happens to me a lot too ._.

Sometimes if I've lost interest in my story that I'm writing, that's when I discontinue it.

I'm not sure if this will help, but this is what I do...

Currently, I'm writing this Murder Mystery for my WattPad. (Don't judge xD)
Of course, I run out of ideas, ect.

What I do, is I started watching some of those crime shows, and recognising the twists/plot.
It usually gets me back in the mood. (Wow, that sounds weird AF xD)

So, maybe try that? Watching videos, or reading other books to help you with your own?

My mum always said you need to have a plot, you can't just write whatever comes to mind (even though I do that anyway). You should know the ending (or at least about what will happen) before even starting writing it. So in my opinion you should stop YLYL and start another series :3
You probably know how to plot a story, but I'm going to tell you how I do it xD

First start with:
  • Who? (the characters in your story)
  • Where? (where the story is set)
  • What? (what is happening in the story. Take YLYL as an example, they're competing against each other)
  • When? (You don't need a specific date, just the year, or even the century)
Then write down any ideas that come to your mind (it doesn't matter if you don't have any). Now write down (just roughly) how the story is going to go, and try to fit in some of the ideas you wrote down earlier. E.g.:
  • Wakes up
  • Has breakfast
  • Goes for a walk
  • Adopts dog
  • Dog dies
  • The end xD
Now make sure you're okay with the storyline, get rid of parts you don't want, add other parts, do whatever you want until you're completely happy with your plot. Now start writing. You can change the plot in the middle, when you're writing, but it's best to stick to the original one :D
