Well I'm pretty sure when it was first created, the Internet was made for good benefits, like searching for something you don't understand.

But then someone made social media and games. Now, I'm not saying either are extremely bad, but they are addicting. Soon, people got addicted to it. And while they do get to socialize and have fun, there are bad benefits too. But those bad benefits online happen if you get addicted to the Internet, which many people have unfortunately done.

When the Internet was first made and released, I'm sure all it had was the search engine and a few of the results to the answers people asked. But then it got popular, and people started making websites. Most websites are helpful, and if not, then it's at least for people to have fun, just relax. Maybe talk to people, too.

The thing that made the Internet addicting was social media. For example, Facebook. It got popular, then addicting. Then it got popular to the fact that everyone knew the name, no matter what, everyone knew of this social media platform somehow. And everyone wanted to have it.

You know how people always want to fit in? Well, since a lot of people had Facebook, others who didn't have it want it now. And you know how people share everything to Facebook? Exactly. People want to know everything, so they end up registering, not caring about the age restriction, and find out everything.

Then there are the games. These games are also addicting, and as humanity grows, technology gets better, the games get better. There are no limitations. You can do anything. And that's what game makers did - they did everything. They added what people wanted. They saw what people loved from the already popular games and used that, adding their own little twist to make their own game, and got a popular game.

The Internet is okay, really. It's just that social media and games make it addicting, so people end up with this vision that the Internet is useless, trash even. When really, it's just the social media platforms and games that made the Internet trash.

The Internet itself can be used to search, to learn. Wanna know the biggest elephant ever? The Internet has the answer. Wanna know if tomato sauce is a smoothie, since tomatoes are fruits? The Internet has the answer. I think.

So stop looking at all the cons, and start looking at all the pros. Hey, if it weren't for the Internet, we wouldn't even know each other. So thank the Internet for the friends and the fun, and just ignore everything that makes it the complete opposite.
