Cake was sent to trial, and he was ruled guilty.
They shot him that day.
But did they shoot the Poisoner?
Melynda was at a snow cone stand. She was the only one there, which was strange.
It had started to rain, so she wanted to get home quickly.
"A snow cone, please," she said.
The snow cone maker chuckled lightly as they poured a mysterious liquid over the snow cone.
They handed it to melynda.
Melynda paid the person and started to eat it.
"Yuck!" She spit out some of the snow cone and threw the rest in the trash.
On the walk home, melynda was feeling weird.
Suddenly she collapsed on the ground, her breaths shakey and her hands twitching.
Somebody from across the street saw her, and called 911.
She was rushed to the hospital.

Melynda blinked and opened her eyes. She could hear hushed voices.
"How is she alive?"
"Maybe her immune system..."
Melynda coughed quietly, to let them know that she was awake.
Everything went silent.
"Can you hear me, Melynda?" Melynda turned her head to the side and saw a doctor standing beside her.
"Yes," Melynda whispered.
Both doctors looked at each other, then back at her.
"I'm going to be honest, Melynda. I was sure you were going to die. You already had the poison in you, and it was killing your lungs and kidneys. But...your body reacted in a way I never have seen before. It fought off the poison. That's the only reason you're alive," the first doctor told her.
The second doctor looked at her with a bewildered look.
He breathed, "you're a living miracle."

Santa was going to a job interview. She put on her nicest outfit and drove to the place they instructed her to interview at.
When she arrived, she had a strange feeling in her gut, but she reassured herself that everything would be fine.
She walked into a room with someone else inside.
"Here for the interview?" The person asked.
"Yes," Santa started to sweat.
"Perfect. Please have a seat as I go get something," The person walked out of the room.
Santa heard the door lock.
Oh no, Santa thought.
In the corner of her eye, she saw a projection of the lady who had just spoken to her.
"Hello, Santa," the lady of the video sneered.
"Recognize me now?" The lady continued.
Santa started screaming for help, banging on the windows and doors.
"Screaming and banging won't help, you know. These walls and windows are completely soundproof," the woman chuckled.
Santa started raiding the drawers and desks for anything that might be useful to try and escape.
"In exactly 1 minute, I will release a poisonous gas into that room via the vents, and you will die. Slowly. Painfully. And I will watch the whole thing," the woman glared at Santa.
"3...2...1," the video disappeared.
Santa heard another click.
Her breaths started to shorten, her eyes watered.
The room was spinning.
Santa started coughing violently. She crawled across the floor and curled up into a ball.
She sat there, slowly and painfully dying.
