Panjy Oneshot
“Oooo, look at that one! It’s so cute,” Pandee exclaimed, rushing over to one of those mini games, where you shoot something at a target and then get a teddy bear or some other sort of prize. The one Pandee had declared her love for was a gigantic brown one dressed in a green button up shirt.
“It’s not that special,” Benjy began, but was immediately interrupted by Pandee giving him a huff of disapproval. She walked up to the booth, dragging Benjy along with her.
“Three tries. Shoot the ball into the hoop. 1 successful throw, 1 small teddy. 2 successful throws, 1 medium sized teddy. 3 successful throws, choice between whichever teddy you’d like,” Pandee read from the sign labelled, ‘Instructions’. Benjy’s hands stuck in his pockets, making no sign to try to get the teddy for Pandee.
“You’re such a rude bean,” Pandee stated. “Mister, can he have three tries?”
“Of course. That’ll be $5, Miss,” the booth worker said. From beneath the counter, he retrieved 3 blue balls. Pandee slid a 5 dollar note toward him and shoved Benjy to the counter.
“Good luck. It’s not as easy as it looks,” the booth worker remarked. Benjy sighed, his hand reluctantly slipping out his jeans pocket. He picked up one of the balls and looked up at the first hoop. It wasn’t that hard, but a small slip up would lead to failure.
Benjy threw the ball, and it landed right in the hoop. The booth worker nodded, and moved out the way to show the next hoop. Again, it didn’t look hard, but one misstep would be the end. Benjy tilted his head, trying to figure out how to throw the ball.
“There is a queue. I’ll give you 10 seconds.” The booth worker leaned against the counter, looking back at the line. Benjy nodded, and gracefully threw the ball, which once again, landed in the hoop perfectly. Pandee’s eyes glimmered, a massive grin covering her face. She barely managed to retrain herself from jumping up and down. Benjy picked up the last ball, and looked up.
“The last hoop is so easy,” Benjy mumbled, slightly confused. The booth worker nodded.
“It isn’t, it just looks easy,” the booth worker smirked. Benjy nodded, and then carelessly dropped the ball, which somehow magically landed in the hoop, because Benjy’s just lucky like that.
“Sweet. You’re first to get all 3 the whole day. Good job. I’ll assume the teddy with the mint green shirt?” the booth worker asked. Benjy nodded. Pandee grabbed the teddy from the booth worker, hugging it tightly as her face glowed with pride and happiness.
Benjy’s fingers loosely wrapped around Pandee’s, as she hugged the teddy in her other arm. Their eyes wandered from ride to ride, mini game to mini game. Benjy tugged Pandee’s hand in the direction of the rollercoaster.
“Ahh, it looks scary, though. Look at how it twists and turns,” Pandee shivered. Benjy shrugged, bringing her to the line anyway.
“Well, I can protect you. If you don’t believe in me, you got Ted here,” Benjy said, releasing his grip to get out his wallet to pay for the ride.
“His name isn’t Ted. I haven’t come up with a name yet, but it isn’t going to be Ted,” Pandee said. Benjy simply nodded, interlacing his hand with Pandee’s once more, after he’d paid the fee.
They were put in the cart at the very back. Pandee’s grip on Benjy’s hand tightened, as did her grip on her teddy bear. Benjy pulled the safety bar down to secure them.
“I don’t… I don’t feel good about this, Benjy,” Pandee stuttered. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths. Benjy’s thumb rubbed against her hand gently, trying to comfort her.
“We can still get off if you want,” Benjy offered, worried. Pandee shook her head, her eyes still shut. Holding onto her hand tightly, Benjy whispered comforting words to Pandee as the ride started.

“I think I’ll be okay,” Pandee stumbled as she got off the ride. Benjy held onto her by her shoulder and directed her to a bench. They sat down and Benjy rubbed Pandee’s back, as she took deep breaths and hugged her teddy.
“Hey, I’m sorry. I should’ve listened to you…” Benjy looked away. Pandee shook her head, smiling at Benjy.
“It’s okay. What’s done is done. Besides, it was a nice ride. Not as intense as I had expected it to be,” Pandee remarked. Benjy nodded, still unconvinced.
Pandee looked up, and saw the ferris wheel start to light up as the darkness of the night descended upon them. “Hey, look! Let’s go on that.”
Still feeling guilty, Benjy let Pandee bring him to the ferris wheel. He insisted on paying, although Pandee was completely fine with doing it herself.
They got on; Pandee staring out the window in wonder and amazement as they began going up. When they were reaching the top, Pandee looked at Benjy, who was leaning against the window and staring out, but his eyes showed he was in a far different place. Pandee tugged his hand lightly, and he looked at her.
“Hey, it’s fine, okay? I’m fine, I promise,” Pandee said. Benjy sighed, staring back out the window.
“Even if you are, I still messed up, like I always do. Sometimes I wonder why you still stay with me, after all the times I’ve ♥♥♥♥ed up,” Benjy said, simply. Pandee frowned, and touched Benjy’s cheek, making him face her.
“Look, you are an amazing boyfriend, and you don’t mess up. Well, you do, but I do too. It’s not such a big deal, okay? You’re perfect just the way you are, and I swear if you start denying it, I’ll beat the crap out of you. Okay?” Pandee said. Benjy was slightly taken aback, but his head bobbed up and down anyway.
“Good,” Pandee smiled, before placing her lips on his. Slowly, Benjy let his lips curl up into a smile.

“That was way clichéd,” Benjy said, wearing a small smile, as he parked the car in the driveway. Pandee shrugged, burying her head in her teddy.
“It may be cliché but it was nice,” Pandee said, stubbornly. Benjy chuckled, as he flopped onto the couch. Pandee placed her gigantic teddy by her favourite chair, before cautiously slipping beside Benjy and snuggling into his chest. He played with her hair, as she fell asleep.
After a bit, Benjy carried Pandee to the bedroom and lay her under the covers, giving her a kiss on her forehead. He was about to leave to get some noodles and watch TV, but before he got out the door he heard Pandee mumble.
“Sleep…” Pandee muttered. Benjy rolled his eyes and got in the bed with her, pulling her body close to his as he felt her warmth.
“Good night.”

“Shut the hell up and just get me my coffee already.”
“Aww, okay. By the way, you look really cute in your sleep.”
“My coffee, please.”
“Fine.”
