So, there’s been a lot of arguments for a while, and for a while, I didn’t know how to respond. But I’ll tell you one dumb thing I thought, and that was that I could believe that I could change another’s opinion. It’s impossible to change another’s opinion, and they won’t change, no matter how much of the debate you have. You can only hope that your opinion causes them to think, and possible cause others outside of the argument to change.
Of course, one thing that’s needed is the perspective of things. You might look at American slavery, and say that it could be impossible that anyone could’ve done this. But in their perspective, without it, they would lose their entire economy due to the amount of cotton produced by slaves. This doesn’t make me a slavery-lover, but it helped me understand why.
