I am 100% sure. You can't lag your way down there.
He was down there running around for at least a minute.
If He couldn't see, he wouldn't be able to run around down there, due to many blocks and hills built under the map.
If he did need a way out, he could have easily used the compass.

I also believe that he previously lost this same account before to a temporary ban. (Not 100% sure if he was or not)
I believe this to be true, because of him saying this about a week or so back:
"I finally got my account back"
He temporarily used an account called coolninja123 or something of the sorts for about 4-5 days.
