All these amazing stories have inspired me to write one of my own, so here we go (also, thank you Lia, Rouge, Lauren and Kendra for the motivation xD):

"RUN!" I yelled. I bolted away from the tumbling buildings. The smell of burning wood filled my nose. I heard the screams of petrified people and stared in horror as the scorching flames engulfed the house,
my house. My home.

"It's just a dream" I muttered to myself. But I knew it wasn't, it had seemed so real...
I tried to shake off the feeling of dread washing over me, but it just wouldn't go away.
That had been the third time I'd had that dream. What could it mean?

The rest of the day was a blur. At the end of it all, I found myself in bed with a mug of hot chocolate in one hand. I sat there for a few minutes then sipped at my drink after finally managing to convince myself that the dream was nothing more than just a dream. Or was it?

I sprinted towards the clearing, away from the raging fire, when I heard a girl scream. I turned around to see her trapped underneath a huge pile of debris. Her once blonde hair now brown with dirt, her face smudged with soot. Her beautiful, blue eyes silently pleading me to help. I scampered over to her, "It's going to be okay," I told her "you're going to be alright". But, before I could do anything, a ball of fire came crashing down on her. There was nothing I could do. Our eyes met. The guilt inside of me burned as I turned and left her to the harsh world. Her screams never left my mind.

I awoke from that nightmare sweating. I glanced at the clock, 05:12. I pulled on a warm, black coat, and headed outside. The park was cold at this hour, I sat on a bench and snuggled into my coat, trying to clear my head. I must have looked as anxious as I felt, because I heard a girl's voice ask "Are you okay?". I looked up at her face only to make myself feel even worse. Her long, blonde hair. Those blue eyes. It was her. The girl from my dream.

"Umm, yeah. I'm fine." I said, pulling my hood down so she couldn't see the expression on my face. I ran as fast as lightning back to my house. I slammed the door shut, and dragged my feet upstairs and into my bed, pulling the sheets over my head, trying to shut myself out from the world.

My head felt like a piñata, about to explode. Who was that girl? How could my dream have known I would meet her the next day? What were the chances of that? Could this just be a crazy coincidence? My mind raced with questions, but I didn't know the answers to any of them. There was one thing I did know. The end of the world was coming.

How do you prepare yourself for the end of the world? I doubt anyone had the answer to that question. What would you do if you knew you only had days, hours, or even minutes left to live?

It turned out, I had a few days before the end of the world. I spent those days in fear, always looking up at the sky, waiting for meteors or some kind of sign, wondering every night if it would be my last night. I sat on my sofa, watching a movie with a happy ending. They had absolutely no idea about what was coming. I walked up the stairs with my usual mug of hot chocolate, when suddenly, the whole house shook. My mug smashed on the floor, the hot chocolate staining the carpet, but none of that mattered. I ran and switched on the TV, the news confirmed that it wasn't only where I was, but all around the world too. I flung open the door to reveal the chaos ruining the city. The end of the world was here.

The sight in front of me alone nearly killed me. People were running wildly, meteors were raining from the sky, a giant fire was burning, and coming closer to me. Screams of fear were echoing everywhere. My heart dropped out of my chest as a helicopter full of hopeful people was struck by a meteor. It was at that moment, that I realised how close the fire was. I dashed out of my house, and looked back just in time to see the flames consume my house, in just one bite. Tears grew in my eyes, it was exactly how I'd dreamt it to be. My only will now: to survive. I spotted a clearing and got an urge to run to it. However, before I could get to it, I heard her scream. I resisted the impulse to turn around and forced myself to carry on. As she kept on crying for help, I realised I had to at least try to help her. "It's going to be okay!" I shouted as I started to run to her "you're going to be alright!". That's when the meteor came down. I felt impotent as she yelled in agony, a sound I knew I would never forget.

I ran for a minute before tripping over, a piece of flaming wood landed on my leg. I howled in pain. Her screams echoed in my mind. The sight of her blue eyes, just before the light left them. The pain was becoming unbearable. "Make it stop," I begged "Make it all stop...".

It's a very happy ending :D

I would appreciate any honest opinions on my story, I don't mind if you thought it was rubbish :3
