Based of a true story that happend recently in my MC world

*Snap*
Austrotix's Elytra wings tore itself apart, initiating a plummet towards terra firma at terminal velocity. He was prepared to throw himself into this situation - considering that he left for the expedition without fully restoring the wings to mint condition.
"Such a pure resting place" He said to himself as he continues to ever so fall closer to earth.

Previous day:

"I've discovered the nether fortress, I've raided the underwater templete, looted several desert temples within the region without blowing up myself to mince-meat and mined more than enough valueables to last for years". "What to do now?" Austrotix thought to himself.
The woodlands mansion idea vividly came to his mind.
Not long after, he done some negotiating and trading with the local village's cartographer for the woodland mansion map, costing few emeralds and a compass.
"Good business today. See ya around Aus!" Said the satisfied cartographer.

As the sun sinks itself beneath the desert horizon, Austrotix returned to his oasis villa and began to prepare himself for the expedition.
The explorer (Aus) remembered a primitive fact how the infamous mansion is located 10s of thousands of blocks away from the new-life block (spawn point). The Villa isn't far from the main point, which meant that Austrotix had days and days ahead if the voyage is on foot, since he's got no horse. Luckly, Aus found a pair of Elytra wings and tonnes of gun-powder and paper to craft mini rockets to propell him.
Rather than travelling the great distance on foot, he could do it within a day or two.
However, the wings was in its mid-life, hindered from its youthful condition required for the expedition.
"Might as well give it a shot" Austrotix affirmed.
"Let's see how far I can get".

Hearing the screams of the burning monsters outside as the sun rose from its beauty sleep, Austrotix climbed the lanching tower, then fearlessly took-off like a jet on an aircraft carrier, propelled into the heavens like a falcon.
Once he reached the crusing height of 650 blocks above bedrock, Aus pulled out the map to see where the dark mansion is.
10 minutes into the flight, an unexpected SNAP came from the wings.
Austrotix knew the risk and acknowledged his fate and landed on the surface like an asteroid - dead; then respawned back in his beddroom back at the villa.
"I did pretty well! Considering that I flew over 10,000 blocks within two-thirds of a day"
He did the command: /give @s Elytra 2
Aus couldn't be screwed going on creative mode to get a horse or searching for one.

Better luck next time!
I/he will find the mansion sometime.

Anyways, I hope you as the reader enjoyed this.
Have a New Year!

Awesome! So you're doing a part 2 right? ^_^ Just watch the tense you're using, you switched between present and past a lot. Still, other than that it was great!

My English teacher says a good book is able to go between tenses a lot and not screw up the plot. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
